On January 18, 1988, Southwest Airlines 4146 IL-18 flew from Beijing to Chongqing, killing 108 people. There were 10 crew members and 98 passengers on board. After investigation by the investigation team, the No. 4 engine showed signs of burning. The fuel tank was checked to rule out the possibility of engine combustion caused by the burning of the fuel tank. Finally, it was confirmed that it was the No. 4 engine. The right starter engine failed and burned, causing the No. 4 engine to fall after burning.
On October 2, 1990, Xiamen Airlines 8301- Boeing 737 flew from Xiamen to Guangzhou, and 128 people were killed. The cause of the accident was that Xiamen Airlines Boeing 737 was hijacked by a hijacker. When landing at Baiyun Airport, the hijacker attempted to snatch the aircraft controller, causing the aircraft to lose control and crash into two other aircraft parked on the ground.

On November 24, 1992, China Southern Airlines and Boeing 737 flew from Guangzhou to Guilin, killing 141 people. The aircraft's right engine automatic throttle valve failed, and the crew's failure to detect and handle the error in time was the cause of the crash. The report pointed out that there was a problem with the right engine's automatic throttle valve not being able to follow, causing the aircraft to transition from a descent to a level flight attitude.
On June 6, 1994, Northwest Airlines Flight 2303, Figure 154, flew from Xi'an to Guangzhou, with 160 people killed. The cause of the accident was that the plugs controlling the rudder and ailerons in the autopilot were plugged in backwards (improper maintenance on the ground), which caused the aircraft's attitude to be in an unstable state of lateral and sideways divergent swing after liftoff. In the end, the aircraft's tail and right wing could not withstand the violent bumps and fell off one after another, causing the aircraft to disintegrate in the air.
On May 8, 1997, China Southern Airlines Boeing 737 3456 flew from Chongqing to Shenzhen, killing 35 people. When the plane landed, due to heavy rain during the night flight, the visibility was low, the runway was waterlogged, the lighting effect was poor, and the ground could not be seen clearly. In this case, the crew did not take decisive measures to go around and violated regulations. By continuing to descend, the initiative was lost and the opportunity was delayed. This was the main reason for the abnormal landing and ultimately the cause of the accident.
On February 24, 1999, Southwest Airlines Flight 4509-Figure 154 flew from Chengdu to Wenzhou , and all 61 people on board were killed. The reason why the aircraft disintegrated may be that a non-compliant self-locking nut was installed incorrectly in the aircraft's elevator control system, and this condition was not discovered during maintenance. During flight, the nut unscrewed, the connecting bolt fell off, and the aircraft's pitch channel operation failed, causing the aircraft to disintegrate and crash.
On April 15, 2002, Air China 129 and Boeing 767 flew from Beijing to Busan , and 129 people were killed. The main cause of the death was bad weather, airport equipment failure and the captain Wu Xinlu being distracted by a series of conversations, causing the passenger plane to crash into a mountain.
On May 25, 2002, China Airlines Flight 611 and Boeing 747 flew from Taipei to Hong Kong, killing 225 people. The plane broke apart and crashed at high altitude midway, killing everyone on board. The radar map showed that 611 split into four large structures before crashing and then fell into the sea. On November 21, 2004, China Eastern Airlines MU5210 CRJ200 flew from Baotou to Shanghai, with 55 people killed. The flight crew did not perform de-icing procedures and pre-takeoff inspections.
