Xiangang Community is located in the northeast of Shishan Town. It has a total area of 3.5 square kilometers, 500 mu of arable land and 300 mu of fish ponds. It is under the jurisdiction of six natural villages: Xiangang, Xiabian, Luyang, Tantou, Dongbian and Roadbian. It is a small community with only a registered population of more than 3,800. According to legend, the village name is called "Xianyaogangchang" and is called Xiangang. It was built in the late Southern Song Dynasty. Because in the second year of Longxing in the Southern Song Dynasty (1164), Zhang Geng, the grandson of the Prime Minister of the Southern Song Dynasty, moved from Huguang to Zhangbian, Dapubaobao, Huangdingsi, Nanhai County, Guangdong Province, and settled his home. It was passed down to the third generation ancestor Zhang Yuanyi who married Shanglang, and the sixth generation of Yue went to Zhang Dongzhuang, Zhang Nanzhuang and Zhang Jilin to Xiangang, and established the foundation and settled the family.张氏族人在此繁衍生息，如今村里第一大姓仍为张。
Visit the former site and listen to the stories of revolutionary heroes
The former site of the Communist Party of China Nanhai County Party Committee is located at No. 234, Zhongheli Village, Xiangang Village, Shishan Town, Nanhai District, . From Zhongheli Gate Tower, it is hidden in a deep alley that is nearly 100 meters long.
The old site is a brick and wood structure on the roof of the rolled shed in the late Qing Dynasty, with an area of about 64 square meters. It was originally the home of villager Zhang Taiyi. In 1985, the county government allocated funds for repair. It was announced in 1994 as the first batch of key cultural relics protection units in the South China Sea.
1927, after the "April 15" counter-revolutionary coup, the Kuomintang's reactionary army and militia groups arrested and killed Communist Party members and revolutionary activists in a large number. The trade unions and peasants' associations organized and led by the Communist Party of China were destroyed. At that time, the revolutionary comrades hidden in the county were transferred from open to secrets after instructions from superiors. In July and August, the Nanhai County Committee of the Communist Party of China was established in Xiangang Village, with Chen Daozhou serving as secretary.
At that time, the Nanhai County Committee of the Communist Party of China took the family of Zhang Taiyi, a villager in Xiangang Village as its activity base, and often held meetings here. Later, it went deep into various places to actively mobilize the peasants to restore and develop armed forces. The martyrs wrote a glorious page of revolutionary history with their blood.
"The children in the village have heard adults tell the stories of revolutionary martyrs since childhood. There are three martyrs in Xiangang Village, namely Zhang Aiquan, Zhang Yunfeng and Zhang Tianping." The 70-year-old party member Du Da has been responsible for the daily maintenance and explanation of the former site of the Nanhai County Committee of the Communist Party of China since 2005. He said that the story of the Nanhai County Party Committee was passed down by word of mouth among the villagers of Xiangang Village.
Now, the former site receives party members, masses and young students for free every year, and has now become an important ideological base for receiving revolutionary traditional education and patriotic education. Party members, the masses and young students have received profound patriotic education through visits and learning the revolutionary deeds and revolutionary spirit of their ancestors.
It is understood that relevant departments have plans to further promote the planning of the "Red Outline" South China Sea Red Culture Education Base to polish the historical and cultural brand.
Strolling around the streets and alleys to regain the story of time
The old story of Xiangang Village is not only in the former site of the Nanhai County Party Committee, but also in the old buildings everywhere, in the streets and alleys full of life.
20 Cantonese residential buildings exist in the village, most of which were built during the Republic of China period. The mark of time can be seen from the blue brick and green water walls, as well as various exquisite brick carvings and gray carvings .
The existing ancestral halls include the Zhanggong Temple in Dongzhuang, the Zhanggong Temple in Nanzhuang, and the Zhanggong Temple in Jilin. There are gatherings and banquets in the village. The building of the ancestral hall adopts brick and wood structure, hard mountain top, herringbone gables, gray carvings and ancient ridges, and blue brick exterior walls. Each element is cleverly combined, and Lingnan has a full charm.
There are also dictionary stone pillars, green carvings, gray carvings, wood carvings, stone carvings, and decorations. The characters, flowers and birds on them are lifelike, as if people can see the exquisitely carved appearance of skilled craftsmen back then.
attaches importance to education. It is a tradition of Xiangang Village since ancient times. The flagpole stone that exists in the front park of the east district of Xiangang Village is a good proof.In addition, there are three private schools (schools) built in the Qing Dynasty, namely Dunmu Book School , Cuizhu Study Room, and Dunxu Study Room.
Uncle Zhang, who is in his 80s, said that when he was young, he studied and wrote in the village's school. At present, some of these private schools have nowhere to go, and some are used as village cultural activity rooms to continue to serve the villagers of the village.
