Symbian was born in Turkey and grew up in Germany. He graduated from the German School of Mechanical Engineering and Technology in 1996 and has been working at Baosteel Laser Welding Company. As a pipeline technician, Saipan is responsible for the management of pipelines, water, gas and other facilities in the entire factory, ensuring efficient supply of energy, gas and other aspects of the factory, and ensuring proper treatment of waste. "I always do my best to save energy and reduce consumption at work. For example, we change the original nitrogen production and supply method from gas tanks to gas cylinders, and constantly adjust and optimize the transportation method of production waste recycling and processing to reduce the cost of waste treatment. Whenever I see every change that can bring benefits to the company, I feel very accomplished."

Nowadays, Saipan is working hard to learn Chinese. "When I first saw my Chinese colleagues working with us in the factory, I really wanted to communicate with them, but at that time my English was not good, and there were great obstacles to communication between the two sides, so I had the idea of learning Chinese." In order to learn Chinese better, signed up for Chinese and English training at the language school, seized all possible opportunities to learn language, installed a language learning app on my mobile phone, and had to conduct oral training with Chinese colleagues almost every day. "Sometimes I take the initiative to go to and from get off work with my Chinese colleagues, to create more opportunities for communication and learning."
Saipan still remembers that he made a lot of jokes during his Chinese study. "Once, I asked my Chinese colleagues, is the reason why 'lamp' is called a lamp because there is a 'deng' sound when turning on the light? Now my Chinese and English have made obvious progress. I know that the Spring Festival is the most important festival in China. During the Spring Festival, I also celebrated the New Year with Chinese colleagues in Chinese through videos."
Saipan believes that working in a Chinese company is a very good experience. "You can experience a different culture from German companies and make Chinese friends. This is very helpful for me to understand this diversified world objectively and impartially. China's economic development has made rapid progress in the 21st century and has continued to attract more and more attention around the world."
Symbian has never been to China, but he especially hopes to visit Wuhan and Shanghai, which are the original and current locations of the laser welding company headquarters. After finishing his journey to such a city, he also hopes to spend a week's holiday in Hainan Island in China.
