The third member of the Migos rap group, which is tied with rappers Quavo and Offset, has passed away. The 28-year-old rapper, real name Kirshnik Khari Ball, was fatally shot at in a bowling alley in Houston at around 2:30 a.m., when he and Quavo were playing dice, Takeoff was pronounced dead at the scene. Two other people in the
venue were shot and taken to the hospital, while Quavo was not injured. This morning (November 1) TMZ first reported the news, which was later confirmed by a local media outlet in Houston.

Takeoff was born in Lawrenceville, Georgia in 1994. He and Quavo - his uncle, but only three years older than him, were raised by Quavo's mother Edna, who had been engaged in a rap career since he was a very young man. Takeoff spent quite a bit of time raping early on and was greatly inspired by Hot Boys, the rap group of Lear Wayne , and their Tupac, Biji and OutKast albums they bought at local flea markets.
In 2008, Takeoff, Quavo and Offset - Takeoff's cousin - began rap in the name of Polo Club, and in 2011, the three released Juug Season, their first mixtape as Migos. In 2013, Migos released Versace, their first song to enter the mainstream market. The song was striking for the pop triple-Migos iconic fast pace in modern rap and was eventually remixed by Toronto rapper Drake , who later had long-term connections with all three members of the group.
Migos is best known for their collaboration with Lil Uzi Vert in 2016, ranking first in the United States, and MotorSport with Nicki Minaj and Cardi B, and Walk It Talk It with Drake, ranking in the top ten. (While "Bad and Boujee" is Migos' work, Takeoff doesn't actually appear in this song or its video). As a solo artist, Takeoff released an album - 2018's The Last Rocket, which ranked fourth in the U.S. as a duo, and as a duo, he also released a record, "Born for Unlimited Links" last month with Quavo.
In August 2020, Takeoff was sued by a woman, claiming she had violated and abused her at a party in Los Angeles. Los Angeles Police Department investigated the rapper, but the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office refused to file criminal charges on the grounds of lack of evidence.
