On April 2, Xiaomi invited media friends to visit the Foxconn Science and Technology Industrial Park located in Langfang . In Foxconn, Langfang, there is the main production line of Xiaomi 9 , and most Xiaomi 9 mobile phones are produced in Foxconn, Langfang. We saw the entire assembly process of Xiaomi 9 phones here.
First of all we see is the SMT production line of Xiaomi 9, which is the place to process the mobile phone motherboard. The components on the mobile phone are soldered to the PCB motherboard, and almost all of them are used to complete the work using the automated robot . The worker master is mainly responsible for inspecting and adding raw materials.
Mobile chip, resistor capacitor and other components are all placed on the motherboard by the robot according to the specified coordinates, and then through the re-soldering furnace, the entire motherboard is processed. The robot can accurately and quickly complete the chip installation and welding. One production line can produce 8,000 mobile phone motherboards a day, and there are 10 such SMT production lines produced at Langfang Foxconn at a time.
Then we visited the assembly workshop of Xiaomi 9 mobile phones, assembled the motherboard, screen, camera, earpiece, battery, wireless charging coil and other components of Xiaomi 9 mobile phones onto the mobile phone. During this process, we continued to test whether the assembly process was successful and whether the installed components could work smoothly.
The last step is to install the glass rear case of the phone on the body, and rely on a precise robot to accurately position the rear cover tightly and fit the body on the body. Then the mobile phone system is written into the assembled mobile phone. At this point, the assembly of a Xiaomi 9 mobile phone has been basically completed.
The mobile phone after assembly does not leave the factory directly, but must undergo rigorous stress testing. In the aging test workshop, the assembled mobile phone will simulate the heavy use of the user and test whether there are software and hardware problems on the mobile phone. If the products that have passed the test, there are basically no software problems.
After that, the mobile phone will undergo p2i processing, which is to cover the nano-level coating on the surface of the mobile phone, so that the surface of the mobile phone is hydrophobic and prevent liquid from entering the mobile phone, thereby achieving a splash-proof level. The entire p2i processing process lasts for 3 hours.
The last production line is the packaging of the mobile phone. When the mobile phone comes here, it will conduct final tests on screen, camera and other functions. Then stick the Internet access license on the back of the body, paste the barcode, and paste the screen mask, and you can put it in the packaging box. After a series of complex process flows, a Xiaomi 9 mobile phone was assembled in this way.
These produced Xiaomi 9 will be temporarily stored in the factory's temporary storage area and will then be sent to various sales channels. The person in charge of the factory said that Xiaomi 9 mobile phone sales were so popular that the mobile phones produced did not need to be put into storage at all, and a forklift would be transported away.
The Xiaomi 9 series mobile phones have shipped 1.5 million units by the end of March, of which more than 1 million units of Xiaomi 9 phones. The person in charge of Xiaomi said that the OEM factory is working overtime to produce mobile phone products, which is also to provide sufficient supply for the upcoming Xiaomi Mi Mi Fan Festival .
After visiting the factory, Qiao Tonghu, senior manager of the OEM factory management mobile phone delivery of Xiaomi Group's mobile phone department production management department, and Xu Jieyun, general manager of Xiaomi Group's public relations department, accepted questions from the media. What everyone is most concerned about is the production capacity of Xiaomi 9 mobile phones. The person in charge of Xiaomi said that the problems encountered in early production are in two aspects. First, the supply of camera camera modules is relatively small, which limits the overall production capacity. Then the worker's proficiency is still improving. By mid-March, the problem of limiting production capacity has gradually been solved, and Xiaomi 9 mobile phones will have enough goods to meet consumers.
Xiaomi 9 is assembled and produced by three domestic mobile phone OEM factories, including Langfang Foxconn, Nanjing Yinghuada , and Xi'an BYD .Among them, Foxconn in Langfang is responsible for most of the production, and Invada in Nanjing has built a dust-free workshop, which is mainly responsible for the production of transparent and exclusive versions. Xi'an BYD has just started the assembly and production of Xiaomi 9 mobile phones.
By visiting the Xiaomi 9 production line, I realized that Xiaomi and Langfang Foxconn are not only OEM, but also very close partners. At the production site, you can see Xiaomi logos, slogans, or Mitu patterns on the walls everywhere. In addition, we have also seen a lot of production and processing equipment on the production line, which are provided by Xiaomi. With the close cooperation between Xiaomi and Foxconn, products can enter the market smoothly.
At the same time, we have also seen Xiaomi’s strict requirements for product quality. The person in charge said that Xiaomi is stepping up time to optimize the testing process and using robots to improve testing efficiency, which can not only improve production capacity, but also ensure that every mobile phone delivered to the user’s hands is a product with guaranteed quality.
Now, through the continuous efforts of Xiaomi and Foxconn, the production capacity of Xiaomi 9 has achieved very significant results. While successfully completing the first month's target of shipment of 1 million units, Xiaomi 9 is also working in two shifts to speed up production, which should meet consumers' purchasing needs later.
