Taiping Island

Taiping Island returned to the motherland after World War II

Chen Shui-bian boarded Taiping Island
Democratic Progressive Party Chen Shui-bian established the Coast Guard Office after taking office in 2000, and Taiping Island affairs were handed over to the Coast Guard Office for management. After that, a large number of Taiwanese politicians made their votes to Taiping Island to increase their public support. In February 2008, Chen Shui-bian led Taiwan's civil affairs department head Li Yiyang , defense department head Li Tianyu, Coast Guard Office head Wang Jinwang , and Chen Shui-bian's deputy secretary-general Chen Chi-mai boarded Taiping Island. He also became the first Taiwanese leader to set foot on Taiping Island, and finally gained a wave of media exposure before leaving office. Ma Ying-jeou on Taiping Island
In 2012, Vietnamese warships invaded the waters of Taiping Island twice, and even opened fire on Taiping Island for a time. On the eve of Ma Ying-jeou's resignation in January 2016, two Vietnamese fishing boats crossed the border in the waters near Taiping Island, and the Coast Guard Office drove away with water columns. DPP sold out Taiping Island
