Hong Kong 3Hong Kong 4, deputy director of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and president of the Chinese Academy of History, Gao Xiang said that to carry forward the spirit of 1911, we must deeply grasp the bright prospects of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, the historical trend of the inevitable unification of the motherland, the people-centered path choice, and the mission of the times to create unity between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait. The fate of Taiwanese compatriots is closely linked to the motherland. During the revolution, Sun Yat-sen put forward the loud slogan of "restoring Taiwan and consolidating China." The Xinhai Revolution also inspired the revolutionary enthusiasm of Taiwanese patriots. Taiwan's anti-Japanese national revolutionary movement has since been connected with the revolutionary movement on the mainland of the motherland, until it defeated Japanese imperialism and returned to the embrace of the motherland. Our compatriots in Taiwan have not absent from the Xinhai Revolution that "opened the door to China's progress", and will not be absent from the historical process of the Chinese nation towards great rejuvenation.
Today, we are closer, more confident and more capable than at any time in history to achieve the goal of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. This also means that our generation is getting closer and closer to the complete reunification of the motherland. Yan Anlin, president of the Shanghai Taiwan Research Association, believes that since the DPP took office for the second time, cross-strait relations have entered a "transformation period" different from the past. This is a rampant period of "Taiwan independence" and a "difficult period before dawn" for unification work. We need to maintain strategic determination, actively resolve difficulties, risks and challenges, and promote cross-strait relations toward a bright future of complete national unity. Zhao Chunshan, honorary professor at the Mainland China Institute of Tamkang University, Taiwan, pointed out that allowing China to move towards a path of prosperity for people's livelihood, prosperity and national rejuvenation is the spirit of the Xinhai Revolution. "Divorceiving long-term separation will lead to unity", seeking national unity is Mr. Sun Yat-sen's ideal. The Sixth Plenary Session of the 19th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China passed the "Resolution of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China on the Major Achievements and Historical Experience of the Party's Centennial Struggle", pointed out that we adhere to the one-China principle and the " 1992 Consensus ", resolutely oppose "Taiwan independence" separatist activities, resolutely oppose interference from external forces, and firmly grasp the dominance and initiative of cross-strait relations. The time and momentum of the motherland's complete reunification is always on our side.
"Promoting the spirit of 1911 and creating great cause of rejuvenation together" is not only the theme of the event of the 8th Cross-Strait Think Tank Academic Forum, but also a deep commemoration of revolutionary pioneers such as Mr. Sun Yat-sen, and the inheritance and development of their lofty spirit of revitalizing China.
