Some time ago, 17SNK was invited to participate in the 2016 China International Billiards and Supporting Facilities Exhibition (GBE) held in Guangzhou.
We met "venom" Florian Kohler at the scene. After introducing 17SNK billiards to him, he realized that there was such a good platform for football friends to communicate with each other, and said that Chinese is not very good now, and hopes to greet the 17SNK Snowmen in Chinese in the future. Then we had a pleasant interview.
Florian Kohler was born on July 10, 1988 in France. He speaks three languages (the information shows French, English and German), has an optometrist license and is a judo black belt player. He is more well-known as an outstanding fancy billiard master, perfectly combining the artistic beauty of billiards and amazing skills to redefine fancy billiards.
17SNK: What time did you come to China?
Koller: I have been to China ten times, and this is the fifth time I have come to Guangzhou to attend this exhibition.
17SNK: How would you feel about participating in the exhibition this time?
Kohler: China is a very crazy country to me. I am very busy every time I come. Although I know that I have a certain popularity around the world, it is the most popular in China.
17SNK: What do you think of the weather in Guangzhou? Can you adapt to the weather changes in recent days?
Kowler: I visited about 45 countries last year, so the weather can adapt to it very quickly for me.
17SNK: Do you like Chinese food?
Kowler: likes, my favorite is beef noodles. (He said "beef noodles" in Chinese, and it seems that he really likes it)
17SNK: Which city do you like the most in China?
Kohler: I don’t like too big places, I prefer small cities, and every time I am invited to China, I am almost all big cities, so I don’t have a special feeling. (Ask him if he has been to Shanghai. He said he has been to Shanghai again. Next time he comes to Shanghai, he can visit 17SNK as a guest~)
17SNK: By the way, do you have a girlfriend?
Kowler: has it, in the United States. (No wonder before asking him how he thought Chinese girls were, he laughed shyly~)
17SNK: How do you usually need to complete it in order to create a new fancy billiards action?
Kohler: Practice repeatedly. If you don’t practice repeatedly, it is impossible to achieve your goal. I spend 6 hours a day on almost every exercise. During this process, you will encounter different difficulties and you have to practice until you complete it. I have practiced until my hands are bleeding. Now my fingers are already called in (he touched the calloused hand for the editor, and the part of the index finger has indeed grown very hard calluses).
17SNK: Do you feel it is hard to practice like this?
Kohler: This sport itself requires constant practice, and you will not feel hard after getting used to it.
17SNK: You said that the essence of fancy billiards lies in creativity, not technology. How did you come up with those wonderful ideas?
Kohler: I will constantly change the position of the ball, including all the hit movements, which are often unsuccessful, and I have tried 2,000 times at most.
17SNK: How do you think more people in China know and better accept the sport of fancy billiards?
Kowler: I hope to go to more places in China so that more people can see my fancy billiards performances.
17SNK: What are your future plans for fancy billiards?
Kohler: I will practice harder. I think fancy is art. Many people can do what I do now, but many people are just copying my ideas. Some things you can imitate, but if you don’t create, there will be no big progress. This sport must be done with care.
