China Railway Chengdu Bureau 6th: In order to accelerate the construction of major railway engineering projects, Chengdu Station (North Railway Station) will stop handling passenger transport business and carry out renovation construction from October 11th. During the expansion and transformation of Chengdu Station, the trains handled by the original Chengdu Station will be adjusted to Chengdu West Station , Chengdu East Station and other stations. Among them, Chengdu Station was adjusted to 26 pairs of trains at Chengdu West Station (25 pairs of ordinary speed trains and 1 pair of EMU), to Anjing Station 3.5 pairs of trains (all are EMUs), and to Chengdu East Station 6 pairs of trains (4 pairs of ordinary speed trains and 2 pairs of trains at Chengdu East Station).

So far, the two stations at the starting and ending points of the Chengdu-Chongqing Railway have been suspended this year.

At that time, there was only one passenger station at Chengdu Station, with 2 pairs of trains running every day, with an average of 2,000 passengers being delivered per day. Just two years later, in 1954, the second passenger station was built at Chengdu Station, and the number of railway lines in the station was increased to 6.
958, Baocheng Railway was launched and Sichuan launched direct trains from Chengdu to Beijing for the first time. Two railway trunk lines, , met at Chengdu Station, and the passenger and cargo volume soared. In 1961, Chengdu Station divided the freight part, mainly passenger transport, but still could not meet the demand.

1970, after Chengdu-Kunming Railway was opened and operated, direct trains from Chengdu to Kunming were launched, and Chengdu Station connected to the three major railway trunk lines of in the southwest region of ; in 1975, the electrification transformation of Baocheng Railway was put into operation, becoming the first electrified railway in my country. The number of passengers and shipments of Chengdu Station directly doubled.
In the following years, the Chengdu Station was partially expanded, with the passenger station increasing to 5 and the station line increasing to 15 shares. The new Chengdu Station waiting building, which was put into use in 1984, can accommodate up to 7,000 passengers waiting, and the waiting scale was second only to Beijing Station at that time.
After that, with the completion of electrification of Chengdu-Chongqing Railway and Chengdu-Kunming Railway, has been opened and operated by , and the Chengdu station has been renovated and expanded again. After the comprehensive rectification was completed in 2005, the waiting room can accommodate 11,000 passengers at the same time, and it has been used to this day.

According to the Chengdu-Chongqing Middle Line High-speed Railway construction plan, after the renovation is completed, Chengdu Station will only handle EMU operations, and the ordinary speed trains undertaken by Chengdu Station will be transferred to the newly built Shiling South Station.
