"Put your hands together in front of your chest, let your nose touch the index finger tips, Savadika ( Thai : Hello)." In a class "Basic Daily Words in Thai Language" at the School of Economics of Guangxi University, China, foreign teacher Wen Ting (Tanaporn Khotphat) is teaching her Chinese students Thai Tanaporn Khotphat. Wenting, standing on the podium, was full of enthusiasm, interacted frequently with students, and the classroom was vivid and interesting.

Wen Ting, 45 years old this year, is from Nakong Pianong Mansion in northeastern Thailand. Influenced by Chinese martial arts culture, Wenting has been curious and yearning for China since childhood. "In the more than ten years since I got along with Guangxi University , under the subtle influence of teachers, classmates and friends, I have followed the customs. This place has become my second hometown I love and is full of belonging." Wenting said in an interview with a reporter from China News Service recently.

In 2004, Wenting graduated from the Tourism Management Department of Chuandushi University, Thailand. After four years of work, she thought she still needed to continue her studies, so she applied for the graduate entrance examination at Chulalongkorn University in Thailand and passed it successfully. At the same time, Wenting received the opportunity to apply for a scholarship to study for a postgraduate degree at Guangxi University in China. With the support of her family, she chose to study in China.

Because the undergraduate degree is not a Chinese major, Wenting's Chinese level was not very good when she came to Guangxi University. She couldn't understand some course content during class. She had to prepare a recorder in advance, record the entire process, and listen to it after class. "After my tutor learned that I had difficulty in class, he specially appointed two Chinese classmates to take care of me in study and life. The two classmates enthusiastically helped and guided me, which allowed me to overcome the language barrier. My Chinese level improved by leaps and bounds a semester," she said.

Wenting said that the time I studied in Guangxi is unforgettable. Outside of class, she made an appointment with Chinese classmates to go shopping, eat special snacks, sing Chinese songs, watch Chinese movies, and participate in online shopping. Out of professional needs, she traveled around the world to appreciate the customs and customs of various parts of China whenever she had the opportunity. "From the snowy Northeast to Sanya, which is as beautiful as summer, from the bustling Shanghai to the beautiful Suzhou and Hangzhou, I have left my happy footprints. I lament that China is vast and has also fallen in love with China's specialty food."

Wenting has successively studied for a master's degree in tourism management and a doctorate in industrial economics at Guangxi University, and has been engaged in friendly exchanges between Thailand and China for many years. She served as the Thai dean of the Supan Confucius Institute (hereinafter referred to as the Supan Confucius Institute) of Kawadenhi University, Thailand from 2016 to 2019.

Wenting said that "Thai and China are one family" is a vivid portrayal of the intimate relationship between the two countries. In Thailand, the trend of "Chinese fever" is becoming increasingly obvious. There are more than 10 million Chinese in Thailand, accounting for about one-quarter of Thailand's population. They are very enthusiastic about learning Chinese. Currently, there are 16 Confucius Institutes in Thailand, which is one of the countries with the largest number of Confucius Institutes in China overseas. More than 1 million people register to learn Chinese in Thailand.

When he served as the Thai dean of the Supan Confucius Institute, Wenting actively matched the two sides of Thailand and China, promoted project cooperation between Chuandushi University in Thailand and Guangxi University, and assisted in organizing various special Chinese training classes and Chinese proficiency test (HSK), carried out consulting services for "Study in China" and "Study in Guangxi", and did a good job in recommending Confucius Institute scholarship , and promoted educational and cultural exchanges and cooperation between Thailand and China.

"In my opinion, Confucius Institute is a big family, I am a parent, and I must take care of this 'home' seriously. No matter big or small matter, it is very important to me." Wenting said that after years of development, the Chinese training and promotion center established by Supan Confucius Institute has become a Chinese teaching center in central and western Thailand, a local Chinese teacher training center, a Chinese cultural communication center and a Chinese proficiency test center.

"In recent years, exchanges and cooperation in various fields between Thailand and China have become increasingly close. Guangxi and ASEAN countries have similar geographical and cultural ties, and more and more ASEAN friends are pursuing their dreams in Guangxi. I feel honored to contribute to the exchanges between Thailand and China." Wenting said that she is committed to being a cultural messenger of the friendship between Thailand and China.

Wenting is currently a foreign teacher at the International College of Guangxi University, deputy director of the Institute of Thailand, a member of the Teaching Steering Committee of International (China-ASEAN) of Kawadenhi University, and president of the Thai Alumni Association of Guangxi University. In addition to teaching related courses, she spends more time conducting scientific research in the fields of education, cultural tourism, etc. in Thailand and China, and has published a number of research results in recent years.

In May 2021, Wenting was awarded the "Fourth Class Thai Crown Medal". According to the relevant code of the Thai royal family, the "Thai Crown Medal" was awarded by the Thai king to domestic and foreign persons who have made special contributions to the Thai state and people, with a total of six levels.

"In China, I have witnessed China's rapid development. China is an inclusive country and has carried out extensive cooperation with other countries in seeking common ground while reserving differences." Wen Ting said that Chinese elements have become an indispensable part of her life. "I hope that my fate with China will continue to continue, and through exploring the Thailand-China exchange and cooperation projects, we will continue to contribute to the exchanges, cooperation and friendship between the two countries and generations."
