Zhang Huantang is an ecological forest ranger in Longyang District state-owned forest farm Yiwan Water Forest Area. 12 years ago, he came to the forest area to engage in forest fire prevention, wildlife protection, mountain patrol and forest protection, tree planting, pest control and other forest resources protection. Over the past ten years, under the joint management of him and his colleagues, the forest area has undergone tremendous changes.

In recent years, the forest water storage capacity of Yiwanshui Forest District has been significantly enhanced. It is known as the "water tower" of Longyang District. Its water conservation source reaches 225 million cubic meters a year. Since 2018, the water sources in Beimiao Reservoir, Dahaiba and other reservoir areas have all originated from the "Yiwanshui" Dalin District.
In forest fire prevention work, the district forestry and grassland bureau mobilizes early, prepares early, arranges early, and deploys early, actively carries out forest fire prevention publicity and mobilization, standardizes outdoor fire use behavior, so that the number of forest fires and fire alarms is lower than the indicators issued by the municipal level. At the same time, the limit logging management and forest land use control were strictly implemented, and a number of major cases were promptly solved. The deforestation cases such as theft logging and deforestation and the random hunting of wild animals were declining year by year. The forest ecosystem in Longyang District is stable, the biodiversity is rich, the forest ecological functions are sound, and forest resources are effectively protected. In terms of forestry industrialization construction, two plateau characteristic forestry industry sectors mainly consisting of woody oil and under-forest industries have been initially formed. In addition, Longyang District focuses on improving the living environment and actively creates a provincial forest city, with the forest coverage rate of the whole district reaching 61.58%. At present, the central city of Baoshan has urban forest parks such as Taibaoshan Park, Qinghuahai Ecological Wetland Park, Dongshan Forest Park, 12 urban leisure squares, the green coverage rate of the built-up area of the city 39.1%, the greening rate is 34.2%, and the per capita park green area of 12.2 square meters, and the people's sense of happiness continues to increase.
