A fire alarm occurred in Lingshan, Fumei Road, Meinong District, Kaohsiung City on the evening of the 21st, and the fire spread 5 hectares. After receiving the report, the Sixth Brigade of the Fire Department dispatched four teams, Minong, Qishan, Shanlin and Liugui, to rescue them. In the morning of the 22nd, another helicopter was dispatched to sprinkle water in the air to extinguish the sporadic fire sources. The fire was finally completely extinguished for nearly 18 hours. Fortunately, no casualties were found. The cause of the fire needs to be clarified.
Chen Junhong, deputy captain of the 6th Brigade of Kaohsiung Fire Department, said that the fire accident occurred in Lingshan area next to No. 478 Fumei Road, Minong. The fire spreads upward. The Minong team in the jurisdiction requests support and exits the waterline to control the fire, extinguishing many fire points near private houses.
Due to the steep mountain walls on the site, some fire points are still inaccessible. Therefore, on the 22nd, a helicopter was applied for support from the Air Service Corps. After taking off from Taitung Airport at 6:30 am, it sprinkled water operations many times and extinguished all sporadic fire sources at 10:30 am.
Chen Junhong said that the cause of the fire is still being investigated and clarified, and it is not ruled out that it is related to burning paper money or setting off firecrackers. He reminded the public that it is now on the eve of the Qingming Festival grave sweeping, and the number of people visiting graves is gradually increasing. He called on the public to abide by the principle of "people leave and fire extinguishing", carry simple fire extinguishing water sources with you to avoid endangering public safety.
