After the police learned about it, they learned that at around 2 pm, an English teacher in a class group of a school in Daye said that he would pay a 498.5 yuan information fee and sent a QR code for parents to scan the code to pay. After payment, the screenshots were sent to the group. After verification, this person whose avatar and online name are the same as the English teacher is a liar.
The police found that in the afternoon of the same day, three scammers quietly entered the class group of a school in Daye. The scammer named "Home Harmony and Everything Comes" was the first to enter the class group and then two more people were joined. One was named "Lin Dong". After the other entered the group, he quietly changed his avatar and name to exactly the same as the English teacher in the group, and then posted the news of paying the book fee of 498.5 yuan and the collection QR code in the group. In order to make the scam more realistic, two other scammers pretended to be parents and replied that they had paid and asked the teacher to check it out. It is related to the children's learning. After the news was released, many parents responded positively, and within a few minutes, many parents scanned the code and transferred the money to the other party. Unexpectedly, the transfer target was a scammer. After seeing this, the real English teacher in the class group hurriedly sent a message to stop the parents' transfer behavior and informed all parents that the news of collecting information fees was not published by them, so the deceived parents asked them to call 110 to call the police immediately.
On the afternoon of the same day, Jinhu Police Station received a report from Mr. Liu, a member of the school where his son was studying, was defrauded of 498.5 yuan on the name of collecting English information. Because his avatar and WeChat name were consistent with the English teacher in the class group, Mr. Liu believed it and scanned the code to pay immediately. Coincidentally, Dongyue Road Police Station also received the same report on the afternoon of the same day...
