(Caijian October 24, 2022) Swiss International Management Development Institute (IMD) recently released the 2022 IMD global digital competitiveness ranking. The ranking is in its sixth year and measures the ability and readiness of 63 economies to adopt and explore digital technology as a key driver of business, government and the broader socio-economic transformation. By collecting "hard data" and conducting research on thousands of corporate executives around the world, we will rank global digital competitiveness based on three dimensions: knowledge, technology, and preparation for the future. "Governmental Cybersecurity Capabilities" and "Privacy Protection in accordance with the Law" are two new standards added by the IMD World Competitiveness Center this year, both of which are provided by the Digital Society Project.

The top five economies this year are: Denmark, the United States, Sweden , Singapore , and Switzerland . This is the first time Denmark has taken the lead, and it is also the first time that the United States has fallen to second place after five consecutive years. China (excluding Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan) ranks 17th in the world, which is far ahead of Japan's 29th place. This year, the ranking of , Bahrain , ranked 32nd in the global digital competitiveness ranking. Russia and Ukraine are not included in this year's global digital competitiveness rankings due to limited data.
