As the saying goes, "Heroes come from troubled times", this is very suitable for many founding generals.
Among the founding generals, many of them are from "mud legs" and have not received formal training. However, with their natural sense of war and constantly exploring military talents, they can still win and fight good wars. For example, founding Major General He Qingji is a typical example.
Why do you want to say He Qingji? Because he had fought three consecutive battles in a year, won three battles and three victories, and killed two division commanders, promoted five levels in a row, and was promoted from an ordinary company commander to a division commander in one go. Under
, let’s take a look at how these battles were fought.
He Qingji's earliest unit was the 51st Regiment of the 17th Division of the 6th Army, the 6th Army, and was stationed in Shashi Town, Yongxin County, Jiangxi Province. At that time, the Kuomintang army carried out a sweep in the Yongxin County area to clear the main traffic routes for the encirclement and suppression of the Red Army. Since "friends come from afar", they must be "received" seriously. Therefore, facing the invading enemy 43rd Brigade, the Red Army set up an ambush circle to wait for the labor. As expected, the enemy army got into the ambush circle and more than 2,000 people were surrounded and annihilated. He Qingji, who showed his bravery, led his troops to kill and injured the enemy brigade commander Hou Pengfei, and won the first merits of this ambush.
This battle with also allowed He Qingji to be promoted from company commander to battalion commander. The base of the regiment was immediately besieged by the Kuomintang army. In order to cover the retreat of the large army, He Qingji, who was familiar with the local environment, took the initiative to stay and block the enemy. Although He Qingji and his party successfully delayed the enemy, they also suffered heavy casualties and were seriously injured. During the transfer, in order not to implicate comrades, He Qingji tied himself to the horse and forced himself to the Hunan-Jiangxi Soviet Area with his tail all the way, and then he saved his life. After recovering from injury, He Qingji returned to the Red Sixth Army and participated in the Battle of Zhongbao in June 1935.
The Kuomintang army relied on excellent weapons to defend its positions, trying to trap the Red Army here. After many days of tug-of-war, seeing that the enemy behind it was about to pounce, He Qingji volunteered to form a suicide squad. Under the cover of artillery fire, He Qingji personally led the team to the enemy's abdomen, smashed the enemy's command post in one fell swoop, and captured the enemy's division commander Zhang Zhenhan alive, thus avoiding the Red Sixth Army from being surrounded.
This battle prompted him to be promoted from battalion commander to chief of staff of the regiment.
I guess even He Qingji himself did not expect that he would be promoted again after only one month of his position.
Not long after the end of the Zhongbao Battle, the Red Army and the enemy encountered each other in western Hunan. As a result, the regiment commander Su Jie unfortunately died, and the superiors decided that He Qingji would replace the regiment commander. It was at this moment that the 85th Division of the Kuomintang Army caught in the attack, and the battle in the Lisman Garden began again.
This time, He Qingji quickly defeated the enemy with the momentum of wind sweeping the remaining clouds. Not only did he kill more than a thousand enemies, he also sniped and killed Xie Bin, the commander of the 85th Division and the Army Major General Xie Bin on the spot, completely panicking the Kuomintang army.
Within two months, capturing one division commander alive and killing one division commander is not suitable for such military achievements, so He Qingji was promoted to Chief of Staff of the Division.
Interestingly, he didn't stay for too long in this position.
It turned out that the Red Sixth Army had just formed a new model division at that time, so they transferred Liu Zhuanlian, the commander of the original 17th Division, and thus, a position for the commander was vacant. This good thing that fell from the sky fell on He Qingji, who had made great achievements in military affairs, which also set a record: he was promoted to five levels in a row within a year, from company commander to division commander.Although
has been promoted all the way, He Qingji is not interested in such a false reputation. When he was awarded the title in 1955, He Qingji was named Major General. Many people reiterated for him, believing that with his qualifications, he must at least be a lieutenant general. However, He Qingji himself did not take it seriously. Instead, he said: "Whether it is a general or a young general, why not be a major general? Think about the comrades who died on the Long March, and think about the comrades who were buried in Black Mountain. Have they ever thought about being a general?"
's open-minded mentality also allowed General He Qingji to live to a long life, and lived to 1998, and lived to the age of 90.
