Wang Deping, from Taihu Lake, Anhui. He is a member of the Chinese Calligraphers Association, a third director of the Anhui Calligraphers Association, a member of the Regular Sketch Committee of the Anhui Calligraphers Association, a member of the Calligraphy Education Committee of the Anhui Calligraphy and Painting Association, a vice president of the Calligraphy and Painting Association of the Anhui Provincial Department of Education, vice chairman of the Anqing Calligraphers Association, and executive director of the Anhui University Calligraphers Association. Part-time professor at Anhui University and visiting professor at Anhui Business Vocational College.

Mr. Wang Deping's relationship with me has been with me because of calligraphy. Since the 1990s, my friendship has been more than 20 years. In the art of learning calligraphy, I have seen countless people, and few people can interact for a long time without interruption. As the saying goes, a gentleman’s friendship is as light as water. Only indifferent and long-term, only in pure and true. The interaction with Mr. Deping is pure and as sweet as the old wine, it also allows us to transcend the secular scrutiny in calligraphy communication and enter into an atmosphere of deep criticism and appreciation.
Mr. Deping is a calligrapher with high comprehensive literacy. Be realistic and kind. He has solid calligraphy skills, distinct style, and theoretical achievements. He has good teaching skills, and has a lot of students in the garden. He has compiled many calligraphy textbooks and benefited thousands of miles of Jianghuai. He is good at organizing and organizing various calligraphy activities and does his best to promote traditional culture. After dating him for a long time, I became more and more impressed by his own books.
Any calligrapher who has achieved success can all styles, and there are one or two styles of calligraphy that stand out in the calligraphy world. This is not only an objective limitation of no one and each has its own strengths, but also a successful rule of academic research that produces honey by picking flowers and making honey and making a lot of money. Wang Xizhi's running script is exquisite, Yan Zhenqing's regular script is dignified, and Huaisu's cursive script is elegant; Deng Shiru's seal script is both exquisite, and he is easy to lose his general knowledge and is not rich in knowledge. Reading Mr. Deping's calligraphy works, his learning path is consistent with the ancients, and his achievements are inconsistent with the ancients. His works are good at all styles, especially in regular script, with the most diligent results, and the most obvious style. Most of his works in exhibitions and awards in calligraphy exhibitions across the country and province are regular script works. His regular script was selected as a model by the college textbooks and the provincial primary and secondary school calligraphy textbook selection committee. At the same time, he is also a senior member of the Regular Script Committee of the Anhui Calligraphy Association and vice chairman of the Anqing Calligraphy Association and director of the Regular Script Committee. He has made positive contributions to the inheritance and development of the regular script art of Anhui calligraphy world. Regular script is the foundation of Chinese calligraphy and the source of the original intention that will achieve everyone. Mr. Deping established the foundation with regular script and made the world clear with regular script, realizing his stage artistic ideals of calligraphy.
Chinese calligraphy has formed a wonderful and grand world of calligraphy art in the long history of thousands of years.From pottery carving symbols to oracle bone inscriptions, from large seal script to small seal script, from clerical script to regular script, to running and cursive script, each style of calligraphy is not only a record of the changes in Chinese civilization, but also a classic inheritance of calligraphy art styles. Shi You's creation of chapter grass, Wang Xizhi's 's "new style" of running script, , Yan Zhenqing's "the atmosphere of the prosperous Tang Dynasty", the "spiritual calligraphy style" of the four Song dynasties, Deng Shiru's "re-making school of stele", etc., regardless of the evolution of the style of calligraphy, or the inheritance and creation of calligraphers of all dynasties, they are all the result of borrowing the past to create the present, entering the past to produce new things, endlessly changing, and generations.
Brother Deping has been studying calligraphy for nearly 40 years. He has cultivated both calligraphy and practiced both merit and ability. He has also found his own "Wang Family" face in the pursuit of inheritance and innovation. The official script of Han stele is often wandering in Shimen Song, Zhangqian stele, Feizhi stele, Haotaiwang stele, etc. The brushwork is solid and exquisite, the structure is clever and clumsy, and the style is simple and majestic. Running script builds the foundation with regular script, writes naturally, and is strong and free; cursive script learns from the Two Wangs and is immersed in the calligraphy score, with skillful brushwork and clear rhythm, strengthens the lines in agility, adhere to the rules in changes, and writes out your own personality and aesthetic expression. Regular script is good at both large, medium and small, and has a variety of methods. It involves everything from Weibei , Tang Kai and ancient scripture writing. In particular, small regular script is based on the Wei and Jin Dynasties, which absorbs the meaning of tombstones and statues. The brushwork is square and round, and the shape is based on the situation and changes a lot. The pen tip changes, like the wind of swords, guns, swords and halberds, straight and handsome, firm and confident. The structure is symmetrical and the momentum is open. It has both the majestic and unrestrained Wei steles and the light and quiet Tang classics. It can be said that it has new spirits from ancient times to new.
The traditional spirit of Chinese art is one of "art to smooth the spirit" and the other is "art to carry the way". Art carries the way means that art must have the social function of conveying ideas and enlightening education. From Han Yu's "literature promotes the Tao" to "literature understands the Tao" in the Song and Ming dynasties, from the realistic critical spirit of the "May Fourth Movement" to the shout of revolutionary literature and art for national liberation, from the "second-for-second" direction of literature and art in New China to the people-centered creative orientation in the new era, it can be said that the tradition of art carrying the Tao has been continuing. Mr. Deping has been working as a teacher throughout his career. While adhering to the professional ethics of "learning as a teacher and being upright as a model", he also upholds the traditional spirit of literature and art in the creation and practice of calligraphy art. While expressing artistic aesthetics, artistic interests and artistic exploration, he pays special attention to the classicality, contemporaryity and people-oriented nature of the writing content. He believes that the writing content is an important part of a calligraphy work. People use literature to produce emotions, and calligraphy to be colorful. This is the so-called writing and writing are both rich and wonderful. His works include Chinese traditional cultural classics such as Confucianism, Buddhism, Taoism, literature, history and philosophy, as well as poetry, songs and humanistic stories that express the development of contemporary society. Especially some of the prose and essays he created themselves can better see Mr. Deping's rich talent and ability to carry the truth.
To investigate and study a successful calligrapher, one should at least develop in three dimensions: the main body of the calligrapher, the environmental object and the art history ontology, so that the face and value of the calligrapher are relatively comprehensive and objectively reflected. Mr. Deping's calligraphy world is profound and worth further exploration and research. At the same time, Brother Deping is also an old horse who is determined to be a never-ending climber. He knows that his calligraphy journey is still long and his higher artistic ideals have not yet been realized. We pay attention to his present and look forward to his future. Here, I will only talk about a few humble opinions from one aspect of his calligraphy art, and share with Mr. Deping.
