In July 2019, Tencent announced that it would cooperate with Pokémon to develop a new work of Pokémon by its subsidiary Tianmei Studio.
Currently, Tencent has recruited personnel for this new "Pokemon", including 3D animation design, 3D game special effects designers, combat character planning, and work locations are all in Shenzhen. Applicants are required to "know and like Pokemon". Those who are familiar with and love Pokemon are preferred.
In addition, according to analyst Daniel AhAMD, Tencent has also opened an office in Los Angeles, USA to assist in the development of this new work. The job advertisement mentioned that candidates are required to be familiar with strategies, action adventures and multiplayer types, and another position mentioned that they must be familiar with Japanese anime art style or Japanese culture.
