Every year, no matter whether the Spring Festival comes sooner or later, the flowering period can be perfectly connected to the festival. In order to prepare for this year's peony flower exhibition, Tanhua Temple Park has also started the cultivation of peony seedlings earlier than in previous years.
All the staff of the park went on duty, transported, shoveled soil, and baked the seedlings, and then transported the potted seedlings to the greenhouse for management and maintenance. The peony seedlings that were originally shaped like dead trees all bear full buds, and some of them have already developed colors and are about to bloom.
The "flower-inducing peonies" in Tanhua Temple Park are to break the natural growth laws of peonies through specific cultivation techniques, so that the peonies can bloom early or off-season. It is easier said than done. There are many steps to do if you want to accurately control the time when peony blossoms. "After the peony seedlings are potted, they will grow for one week and grow for another 10 to 15 days. They will peel and apply the medicine to promote flowering with a brush. The process of applying medicine needs to be repeated several times before it is possible to urge flowers to bloom in advance." A relevant person in charge of Tanhua Temple Park introduced that in addition to these processes, during the process of urging flowers, the amount of temperature, light and water should be properly controlled. A little more or less will affect the time and quality of flowering. Peonies that have not undergone flower urging technology can only bloom with natural temperature, while peonies that have flower urging have a "predictable date" like the fetus in the belly of a pregnant woman.
After 11 years of exploration, the technicians in Tanhua Temple Park can now accurately control the flowering time of each batch of peony flowers, and can accurately calculate it in "day", ensuring that the peony flowers with the best blooming status can be seen in batches in combination with the opening and the date of the Spring Festival.
2022, the two major parks, Daguan Park and Tanhua Temple , still exhibited the flower-inducing peonies cultivated by Tanhua Temple Park through joint exhibitions. There are more than 20 varieties, among which the most distinctive ones include "Lu Hehong", "Junyuanhong", " purple Erqiao ", "wulong Pengsheng", " coral platform ", etc., and the colors include red, purple, pink, yellow, complex colors, etc. Tanhua Temple Park has also improved the cultivation of substrates, fertilizers and other elements. Each pot of peony not only has more buds, but also retains leaves, and the flowers and leaves are more luxurious and gorgeous.
