Last Saturday morning, a highly anticipated English speech contest came to a successful conclusion in IVY. 12 speakers from our school gathered on the stage and caused a wave of turmoil at the competition site with their wonderful speeches. IVY English Speech Competition is a school-wide competition. This competition that integrates professionalism, talent, innovation, diligence and wisdom has always been loved by IVY friends, so everyone signed up to participate. After a tense preliminary round, the top 12 glory was born, and they were Tim, Cherry, George, Jack, Eric, Xuan, Mike, Jackson, Roy, Amy, Jade and Jini.

The last five teams competed for the championship, the second and third place, and the competition system was upgraded again. The contestants watched the questions on the spot and gave impromptu speeches, which had high requirements for the contestants' reaction ability and English expression ability. IVY's classmates and teachers specially recorded a short video for the championship, runner-up and third place competition. The students in the video played different roles and explained the meaning of the question through short stories of cultural conflicts. Their acting skills made everyone laugh. The impromptu speeches of the five students also received applause from the audience.

They are champion Amy, runner-up Jini, and third place Mike. These three contestants are better in terms of novelty in the topic selection, speech skills and fluency, as well as on-site response and on-site performance. In particular, champion Amy gave a speech from the perspective of Jewish culture. He chose the topic ingeniously, prepared in the early stages, and gave an orderly speech. He finally won unanimous recognition from everyone and won the highest number of votes in the whole audience, becoming the champion of the 2018 IVY English Speech Competition.
