After investigation, the police arrested a 33-year-old Hong Kong woman surnamed Cai for suspected "ordinary assault". At present, the Hong Kong woman has been granted bail pending investigation, but she must report to the police in mid-October. At around 1 p.m. on September 15, the 23-year-old mainland female student entered the bathroom on the campus of the City University and was soaked in the compartment with warm water. After she walked out of the compartment, she found the woman surnamed Cai and questioned that she was the one who poured water on her.
Then, the woman surnamed Cai insulted her as a "mainland woman". At the same time, the woman surnamed Cai also hit the mainland female student in the arm while the mainland female student was trying to stop her. The mainland female student decided to call the police.
