Today is Teacher's Day,

For Professor Qi Yukun of the School of Literature of Fujian Normal University,

This is a festival for the whole family to celebrate together.

Because four generations teach,

There are 9 people in his family working in colleges and universities.

What makes him even happier is that for 11 consecutive years, the doctoral and master's degree he taught will come to see him before Teacher's Day, and

will accompany him to have a thank-you banquet.

For him, this day was even more lively than the Spring Festival.

This year's teacher thank-you banquet was picked on September 7, which was Saturday. More than 20 doctoral and master's degree came to accompany Qi Yukun's family to celebrate Teacher's Day. Qi Yukun, 81, was very happy. He said that seeing students achieve success is his best gift.

During the meal, what the students talked about most was the story of the four generations of Qi's family teaching.

It turns out that in Qijia, the first generation of teachers was Qi Yukun's father Qi Ziyi.

He has worked in the State Customs and Foreign Trade Bureau. He is proficient in English. His wife comes from a scholarly family.

is the cousin of Bing Xin .

Qi Ziyi co-authored "Travel English Session" with a foreign friend. Bing Xin wrote a preface for him. In 1971,

61-year-old Mr. Qi opened a free English study class in

.

has no classroom, he puts a small stool in the bedroom and canteen,

to teach children to read English. At the most, his students had more than 100.

After the reform and opening up, Mr. Qi founded Fuzhou Yixian Amateur Foreign Language School. The third edition of " People's Daily " reported on May 28, 1983, "Qi Ziyi, a retired cadre of the Fujian Provincial Foreign Trade Bureau, does not care about remuneration and cultivates foreign language talents for the country all year round. From 1971 to the present, he has tutored more than 500 cadres, young students and unemployed young people."

In the 1980s, Qi Ziyi invited foreign friends to the classroom to create opportunities for students to practice speaking

Mr. Qi was very enthusiastic. Once, a colleague fell ill and his family didn't have time to come to take care of him. He took the initiative to help make food and pour room pots. Student Xia Rongqiang suffered from severe eye disease at the age of 21, resulting in blindness in both eyes.

Since 1981, with the help of Mr. Qi, he has mastered English proficiently and established the first free amateur English school for the blind in the country. Later, Mr. Xia became the chairman of the Fujian Provincial Blind Association and a member of the 10th and 11th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. At the age of 79, Mr. Qi was awarded the honorary title of "National Outstanding Teacher".

1989 Qi Ziyi won the National Outstanding Teacher Medal

Couple has been teaching for many years and saved the lives of students

Under the influence of Qi Ziyi, most of their descendants are engaged in the education industry.

In 1965, Qi Yukun graduated from a master's degree in Chinese literature history in Peking University and became a teacher at Lanzhou University . It was only in 1983 that he was transferred back to Fujian Normal University to engage in the research and teaching of ancient novels. Usually, he likes to communicate with students as a friend, and students like his classes.

For 50 years, Qi Yukun served as the director of the Chinese Department of Fujian Normal University and doctoral supervisor. Now, he is in his 80s and still teaches himself computer, type and writes books by himself. He also goes to the School of Arts of Normal University to teach doctoral students one or two classes every semester.

After graduating from Renmin University of China, his wife Zheng Ting worked as a teacher at the Central School of Finance and Finance (now Central University of Finance and Economics ). After that, her work was transferred several times. In 1970, she also worked in the laboratory of Lanzhou University for a year. In the 1980s, she taught in the Department of Economics of Lanzhou University for two years. In 1983, she and Professor Qi were transferred back to Fujian Normal University and served as the director of the school’s finance department.

Mr. Qi Ziyi, who is over 70 years old, insists on teaching on the podium

"When my father was alive, he often said 'Only good is the most happy'!" These four words became the family motto of the Qi family, and Qi Yukun and his wife were also very enthusiastic. One year, Wei Jia, the wife of student Chen Ying, was transferred from another place to work at Normal University. When she was at work, she suddenly had pancreatitis. Zheng Ting immediately called an ambulance and accompanied her to the provincial hospital. He also asked people from multiple sources to solve the problem of hospitalization bed. Wei Jia received good treatment before he turned danger into safety. This year's thank-you banquet, Wei Jia also arrived. She held Zheng Ting's hand and thanked him again and again. She said that her life was saved by Professor Qi and his wife.

htmlFor more than 0 years, as long as students have difficulties, Professor Qi and his wife have often donated generously or introduced part-time jobs to them. Many students can get help from Professor Qi and his wife after graduation when they start a family or buy a house.

81-year-old Qi Yukun (fourth from left), teaches for four generations. There are 9 people in his family working in colleges and universities.

teaches for four generations. Keeping the "three hearts"

Qi's four generations teach for four generations. They are very strict with students, but their family education is very democratic. Qi Yukun always tells his children, "Go wherever the country needs it, and do the job they like!" But his son, daughter-in-law, granddaughter, and grandson-in-law all became teachers. Like their grandfathers and fathers, they insist on being on the front line of teaching and like to help students and friends.

Teacher,

Thank you for your hard work

His eldest son Qi Xuequn once worked in the Fujian Provincial Department of Education, serving as director of the Science and Technology Department and Planning Department. Since June 2014, Qi Xuequn has worked in colleges and universities and is still contributing to the cause of education. After graduating from the Chinese Department of Fujian Normal University, Qi Xuedong is an associate professor in the Department of Grammar of Fujian Radio and Television University. My daughter-in-law Lin Peixuan is a professor and master's supervisor at the School of Foreign Languages of Fujian Normal University.

granddaughter Qi Fei is a teacher at the School of Life Sciences, Fuzhou University, and his grandson-in-law Huang Teng is a teacher at the Department of Finance, Zhicheng College, Fuzhou University. My niece Zhang Weining is also a foreign language teacher at Zhicheng College of Fuzhou University. This year, her youngest granddaughter Qi Mengfeng just got admitted to the English Department of Shandong University. She said that she also wants to be a teacher in the future.

Qi Fei said that until now, she still remembers how her great-grandfather wore reading glasses and corrected homework for students when she was in her 80s.

In his later years, my great-grandfather also wrote "900 English Sentences" word by word with an ink printer. The elders' love and persistence for the cause of education are the heirlooms of family management. They deeply realized that a teacher should not only "preach, teach, and solve doubts", but also have three hearts: love, patience and responsibility.

Today, on the 35th Teacher's Day,

pays tribute to all the educated lamp burners,

wish them a happy Teacher's Day!
