During the Kuomintang chairman election, former Kaohsiung mayor Han Kuo-yu was invited by overseas Chinese to visit the United States. On the 19th, he attended the "43rd Annual Meeting of the All-American Taiwan League Alliance" and delivered a speech. He shouted to the Kuomintang, "Guoyu is not afraid of losing, the Kuomintang is not afraid of losing, but cannot always lose." He also criticized the Democratic Progressive Party for always bringing out "Taiwanese value".
This is also the first public event in more than a year since Han Kuo-yu left Taiwan’s political arena. About 300 overseas Chinese from all over the United States attended the speech and dinner. Many Han Kuo-yu supporters screamed and cheered when they saw Han Kuo-yu appearing, and the atmosphere was quite warm. Han Kuo-yu and his wife Li Jiafen were surrounded by people, and they bowed to the attendees for their support.
Han-yu went to Taiwan for his first thanks to overseas Chinese for returning to Taiwan to vote in the 2020 election, and during his tenure as mayor of Kaohsiung, overseas Chinese responded to the slogan "When goods are sent, people can come in." He said that the greatest purpose of a political party, government, and politician is to take care of grassroots people, especially the weak. Therefore, after the election of the leaders of Taiwan, he replaced the votes with public welfare.
Han Kuo-yu said that he was born in an ordinary family and that he had received support from everyone along the way was not because everyone was particularly loving to him, but because everyone's feelings, recognition of Taiwan, and his deep anxiety now. He mentioned that many people present came from Taiwan and had good memories in Taiwan, so how could they disagree with Taiwan? But everyone was anxious about the tension between the Taiwan Strait and the erosion of "Taiwan independence".
Han Kuo-yu said that the competition between the United States and mainland China certainly affects Taiwan’s future and the COVID-19 pandemic has also profoundly affected everyone’s lives and economy, but the urgent threat faced by Taiwan at this stage is actually the “ruling” Democratic Progressive Party, because the party “puts the name of democracy, practices the reality of political struggle, practices the reality of justice, and practices the reality of historical distortion.” He bombarded the DPP now with the majority of public opinion institutions and dominated the administrative machine. Democratic elections are temporary, but the harm caused by destroying the democratic mechanism is eternal.
Because of this, Han Kuo-yu shouted ""Guo-yu is not afraid of losing. I believe the Kuomintang is not afraid of losing, but we cannot always lose." Otherwise, the DPP will continue to do whatever it wants and will eventually destroy Taiwan. "It is tolerant, but who is not tolerant." (Lin Jingxian/Editor)
