Xu Mudi said that he had moved to Longtan for 28 years after getting married. When he first moved in, he found that there were sauerkraut sent by neighbors at his doorstep every day. He realized that it was a way for Hakka people to make new friends. Therefore, he created "Can My Sauerkraut be added with sugar" and hoped that his creation would be closer to local culture. He could cook and tasted many delicious Hakka food in Longtan. Because he had made the painting process into a video and shared it in his personal fan group, he was chosen by the Longtan Branch of Taoyuan Library.
