An archaeologist once said: Use mountains to determine the water, use water to determine the road, and use road to determine the city. The two major rivers in Taipei City: Tamsui River and Keelung River, winding through the Taipei Basin along the mountains, forming Shezi Island. The riders today ubike surrounds the Shezi Riverside bicycle path, sets from the Keelung River, reaches the intersection of Keelung River and Tamsui River, and then go back to Taipei Dadaocheng Wharf along the Tamsui River. The mountains and rivers on the way really determine the soul of the Taipei Basin.
Weather in Taipei in April after Qingming Festival, there is already early summer temperature. At around 7 o'clock in the morning, the rider set out from the No. 8 embankment port of Keelung River next to Songshan Airport. The riverside bicycle path is moving north along the left bank of Keelung River. The clear sky is reflected along the way, and the water is rippling. The Qixing Mountains stand not far from the right bank. From the departure point to Shezi Islandtou Park, the junction point of the two rivers, it is about 14 kilometers. There was a yacht surfer at Shezi Riverside Park. The rider looked at a long white water mark on the back of the yacht and gave a secret praise in his heart.
Arrive to Daotou Park, where the rivers on both sides gather here. On the left is Guanyin Mountain at the mouth of Tamsui, and on the right is Guandu Wetland Park. Looking forward from afar, it is Tamsui Wharf and the city. At this point, it feels like it is integrated with the leisurely world of the Taipei Basin. Because Shezi is located at the intersection of the two rivers and is close to the mouth of the Tamsui River into the Taiwan Strait, it will cause flooding whenever typhoons flood. Therefore, although it is located in Taipei, the most prosperous area in Taiwan, it has been built for a long time, leaving Taipei citizens with a natural wetland and open water and land activity space. During the epidemic, riders can cherish the harmony of the coexistence of the city and nature.
After absorbing the essence of the Taipei Basin landscape in Daotou Park, the rider continued to move along the Shezi circular river embankment and from the riverside bicycle path on the right bank of the Tamsui River. Pass through Luzhou and Sanchong on the other side and arrive at Dadaocheng Wharf.
Last time I visited the old tea shop house on Guide Street at Dadaocheng Wharf. This time I visited the famous Dihua Street near Dadaocheng. Dihua Street was a famous dock goods trading distribution center at that time. Entering the North and South Dry Goods Street, you can still see old houses and merchants everywhere. Back then, the cloth merchants on Dihua Street were the main force of underground financial lending in Taipei. Now, the cloth merchants in Yongle Shopping Mall are only the old merchants silently continuing the decline of cloth transactions. The next wave pushes the previous wave, which is a symbol of a great city.
