Last month, International Monetary Fund (IMF) announced the latest estimate of 2021 per capita GDP in in all countries around the world.
There are huge differences among countries, and rich and poor countries are clearly distinguished. The world's number one Luxembourg has a per capita GDP of US$136,701, while the last Burundi is only US$272, which is 503 times the difference between the two. Burundi has a population of 12.23 million, and its GDP is not as good as the small country with a population of 80,000 in the country. There are some impressive examples in the
list: 1. The once poor European country, , Ireland , is now richer than , Switzerland . 2. Ukraine, which has the reputation of "European Granary", has almost ranked at the bottom of Europe. Oh, by the way, this is still the data from last year. Ukraine's indicators in 2022 are expected to be even more ugly. 3. The world's largest oil reserves, , Venezuela, , is lower than the average value of sub-Saharan African countries. 4. India, the world's fourth military power, is still more than US$2,000, but it has widened the gap with , Pakistan . 5. Although several poor countries in Southeast Asia are still ranked low in the world, they have jumped a lot compared to ten years ago. With the advancement of RCEP in the future, they believe that the latecomer potential is not small. 6. Iran's per capita GDP is startled at first glance, but considering that Iran's official exchange rate is not referenceable, its actual per capita GDP should be much lower.
