The epicenter is located in Bingbeng Village, Tongguan Town, Mojiang County (101°31′48″ east longitude and 23°16′48″ north latitude). The epicenter is 11 kilometers deep, 24 kilometers away from Mojiang County and 133 kilometers away from the main urban area of Pu'er City. After the earthquake, it attracted widespread attention from all walks of life. The Yunnan Corps of the Armed Police acted upon hearing the order, responded quickly, took the initiative, and actively participated in earthquake relief work.
