Hengxian has a long history of planting jasmine flowers, and it is said to have a history of six or seven hundred years.
The jasmine flowers grown in Hengxian are famous for their early flowering period, long flowering period, large buds, high yield, good quality and strong fragrance. At present, the planting area of Hengxian jasmine has reached 100,000 mu, with about 330,000 flower farmers, with an annual output of 80,000 tons of fresh flowers and an annual sales revenue of 700 million yuan, accounting for 11% of the total agricultural output value of in Hengxian ; there are 150 flower tea processing enterprises, with an annual processing of 60,000 tons of flower tea with an output value of 2 billion yuan, and a total output value of jasmine tea 2.7 billion yuan. The output of jasmine and the total processing of flower tea both account for more than 80% of the country, accounting for more than 60% of the world. Currently, Hengxian has become the world's largest jasmine production and jasmine tea processing base.
In order to further understand the local distinctive jasmine culture and understand the county's long history of jasmine cultivation, on July 8, Guangdong Ocean University Cunjin College, the social practice team for rural areas in the near future came to the Zhonghua Jasmine Garden in Hengxian, Guangxi, which is known as the "China Jasmine Capital", for field research.
