On November 24, the National Model Workers and National Advanced Workers Commendation Conference was held in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. The national advanced model figures with outstanding contributions received the highest praise from the Party and the country. Comrade Song Xiansheng of Tai'an Post Branch was named a national model of labor. It is the highest honor that Tai'an Post has won for the first time since the post and telecommunications branch. It sets an example for all Tai'an Post employees. It also reflects the hard-working and enterprising corporate culture and the positive and courageous spirit of postal employees.
Song Xiansheng, male, Han nationality, born in December 1966, member of the Communist Party of China, a deliveryman for the business bureau of Tai'an Branch, entered a postal enterprise in 1985, and in 1996, he became a postal man who hiked Mount Tai to deliver mail. Every Tuesday, Thursday and six times, all kinds of emails along Mount Tai to the top of Mount Tai are delivered to every customer, and they are a veritable "serviceman" in Mount Tai. In the past 24 years, he has never delayed a shift and lost a single email. He delivered nearly 10,000 mails of various types every year, with a delivery accuracy of 100%. He carefully interprets the service purpose of "People's Post for the People" and is praised by the masses as "Taishan Woman". He has to carry 35 kilograms of weight every time he climbs a mountain, and the mail will weigh more than 40 kilograms when he has been mailing. Regardless of spring, summer, autumn and winter, wind, frost, snow and rain, day after day, year after year, on the long mountain road, he has hiked more than 8,500 times up and down Mount Tai, up and down 109.7 million steps, a total of more than 170,000 kilometers, and has worn more than 200 pairs of shoes, making the ordinary postal road extraordinary. He has never forgotten his original intention and sticks to Taishan Post Road for 24 years because he loves this postman job, Taishan, and the customers who have become good friends along Taishan! Although the job of a deliveryman is ordinary, his spirit is extremely precious! He is down-to-earth, persevering, climbing hard, moving forward bravely, inheriting and carrying forward the spirit of Taishan’s “porter” in the new era!
24, and 24 years of postal journey, conveying letters and hearts, on Mount Tai, a natural miracle in the world, Song Xiansheng has produced a legend of wild goose! During his 24-year career, he has won the titles of "Outstanding Employee of Tai'an Post Bureau", "The Most Beautiful Tai'an Person", "Shandong Moral Model", "Shandong Province Labor Medal for Prospering the People and Prospering the Shandong Province", and "Top Ten Figures Touching Tai'an". In 2013, he won the honorary title of "National May 1st Labor Medal". In 2018, the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government awarded Song Xiansheng the honorary title of "Shandong Province Labor Model".
