According to Associated Press , the winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature will be announced at the Swedish Academy in Stockholm on Thursday local time.
Although the winner is notoriously unpredictable, one obvious competitor is Salman Rushdie, an Indian-born writer and free speech advocate who hid for years after the religious ruler of Iran demanded his execution for his 1988 novel The Satanic Verses.
