[Huaxia Jingwei Comprehensive Report] Evergreen Freighter is stuck again? ! At the end of March last year, the cargo ship "Ever GIVEN" (Ever GIVEN) of Taiwan's Evergreen Marine Transport stranded on the Suez Canal , causing the canal to be blocked for six consecutive days, and was nicknamed the "Big Platoon Evergreen" incident. Unexpectedly, a year later, another cargo ship with Evergreen Sea transport was stranded. This time it was the "Ever Forward" with Hong Kong flag, located near the Port of Baltimore in the eastern United States.

According to reports, the "Long-range Wheel" left the Port of Baltimore, USA on the evening of the 13th local time and was stranded shortly after it was stranded. It was originally going to Virginia, but it was unexpectedly stuck near Chesapeake Bay in Maryland. The Maryland Administration said that although the "long-range wheel" was stranded, it did not affect other ships entering and leaving the Baltimore Port. At present, trying to get the freighter out of trouble, and rescue is ongoing.
In this regard, Evergreen Shipping confirmed on the 15th that the "long-range wheel" deviated from the channel and ran aground when it left Baltimore, USA, and there is no fuel leak at present. The company is arranging divers to conduct underwater inspections to confirm whether the hull is damaged, and coordinate with relevant units to assist the round of escape as soon as possible. The cause of the incident is under investigation.
U.S. Coast Guard said that the "long-range ship" was stranded in Chesapeake Bay, Maryland and is currently working to get out of trouble. Although the cargo ship did not hinder traffic in nearby waterways, nearby ships still slowed down and took precautions. The senior researcher of the University of Toronto Citizen Laboratory program pointed out on Twitter that although the "long-range wheel" did not block the channel this time, it was actually quite close to the channel.

It is understood that the "Long-Distance Round" is mainly responsible for the route between Asia and the United States to and from the United States. It is held by Evergreen Hong Kong Company and was put into operation only the year before yesterday. This cargo ship is the fourth of eight 110,000-ton container ships ordered by Evergreen Shipping to South Korea's Samsung Heavy Industry; the ship is 334 meters long and 48 meters wide, and can carry 11,850 20-foot standard containers, which is 110,000-ton.
The "Ever Gift" that stranded the Suez Canal last year is 400 meters long and belongs to the 220,000 tons class and can carry 20,000 20-foot containers. It is one of the largest cargo ships in the world. The "Ever Gift" crosses the Suez Canal in the past week, causing more than 400 ships to be delayed, resulting in the surge in international oil prices, sea freight prices, especially the prices of Eurasian routes, impacting the global economy and supply chain. Some media called it another "Suez crisis" after 's Second Middle East War.
It is estimated that due to the stranding of the Evergien wheel, the Suez Canal was blocked and unable to charge tolls, with a daily loss of US$14 million to US$15 million. In addition, the stranding caused US$12 billion of goods to be stranded at sea, and the global loss of US$400 million per hour is equivalent to a loss of 1 NT$2.18 billion per minute. Although the "Ever Gift" escaped on March 29, it was seized by Egyptian and asked to pay huge compensation and not leave until July 7.

Thankfully, the outside world expects that the stranded accident of the "Long-range Wheel" will not cause international shipping chaos like the "Everglade". However, many Taiwanese netizens still call history repeating, " Everglade is you again", "Is there a big row of Everglade again?"...
