On October 5, the Embassy received a note from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on adjusting the policies of foreigners' entry and exit and residence in Afghanistan. Instructions of the Ministry of Interior of Algeria on the restoration of normal procedures for foreigners' entry and exit and residence in Afghanistan
In view of the current Algeria has partially opened its borders, the number of international flights continues to increase. In addition, foreigners who are stuck in Afghanistan due to force majeure permission by the Afghan government during the epidemic can now handle the procedures for staying in Afghanistan or leaving Afghanistan according to the following conditions and methods:
1. For foreigners who currently hold a foreigner's residence permit or temporary residence permit , and the above documents have expired during the Afghan epidemic and border closure, if they wish to continue staying in Afghanistan, they must submit a document update application to the Afghan police department in accordance with the current laws and regulations.
2. For foreigners who currently hold a foreign residence permit outside Afghanistan and whose above documents have expired during the Afghan epidemic and border closure, if they wish to return to Afghanistan, they can apply for a visa from the Afghan embassy and consulate abroad, and apply for a residence permit in accordance with current laws and regulations after entering the country.
3. For foreigners who do not hold a residence permit but enjoy the policy of automatic extension of visa documents during the epidemic and border closure, they must leave within 30 days from September 15, 2022. Such personnel can apply for an additional stay period of up to 30 days, and must submit supporting documents for the extension application to the relevant departments of the province and pass the police verification and permission. The extension will be handled according to the current visa or residence permit extension method.
4. For those who do not hold A residence permit and want to come to A, they must carry a round-trip air ticket and a visa. If necessary, they should also provide funding proof during their stay in A. .
V. Repeal all measures involved in Document No. 12 of March 25, 2020 and Document No. 989 of May 21, 2020.
After this policy comes into effect, all foreigners coming to Afghanistan must abide by Afghanistan's current laws and regulations in terms of entry and exit, movement and residence.
