Since the beginning of this year (as of October 31), my country has experienced 513 earthquakes of magnitude 3 or above, including 373 magnitude 3.0 to 3.9 magnitude 113 magnitude 4.0 to 4.9 magnitude 24 magnitude 5.0 to 5.9 magnitude 3, 3 magnitude 6.0 to 6.9 magnitude 0, and 0 magnitude 7.0 or above. The largest earthquake was the magnitude 6.6 earthquake that occurred in Nima County, Nagqu City, Tibet on July 23. The earthquake activities during this period were counted in provinces, and the top five with the largest number were Xinjiang, Taiwan, Tibet, Sichuan and Yunnan.
During this period, a total of 473 earthquakes of magnitude 3 or above occurred in mainland my country, including 370 magnitude 3.0 to 3.9 magnitude 370 magnitude 4.0 to 4.9 magnitude 83 magnitude 5.0 to 5.9 magnitude 17 magnitude 6.0 to 6.9 magnitude 3, and 0 magnitude 7.0 or above. The largest earthquake was a magnitude 6.6 earthquake that occurred in Nima County, Nagqu City, Tibet on July 23.

Since this year (as of October 31), a total of 77 earthquakes of magnitude 6 or above have occurred around the world, including 67 magnitude 6.0 to 6.9, 10 magnitude 7.0 to 7.9, and 0 magnitude 8.0 or above. The largest earthquake was a magnitude 7.8 earthquake that occurred in the waters south of Alaska, USA on July 22.

1. Xinjiang
Since this year (as of October 31), there have been 189 earthquakes of magnitude 3 or above in Xinjiang, including 146 magnitude 3.0 to 3.9 magnitude 33 magnitude 4.0 to 4.9 magnitude 8 magnitude 5.0 to 5.9 magnitude 2 magnitude 6.0 to 6.9 magnitude 6.9 magnitude 0, and 0 magnitude 7.0 or above. The largest earthquakes are the magnitude 6.4 earthquakes in Kashgar County, Kashgar Prefecture, Xinjiang on January 19 and the magnitude 6.4 earthquakes in Yutian County, Hotan Prefecture, Xinjiang on June 26, 2020. In October, 12 earthquakes of magnitude 3 or above occurred in Xinjiang.

2. Taiwan
Since this year (as of October 31), Taiwan has reported 39 earthquakes above magnitude 3 (according to the speed report management regulations, earthquakes below magnitude 4 are not included in the normal speed report range), including 3 magnitude 3.0 to 3.9 magnitude 30 magnitude 4.0 to 4.9 magnitude 6, 6 magnitude 5.0 to 5.9 magnitude 0, and 0 magnitude 6.0 or above. The largest earthquakes are the magnitude 5.5 earthquakes that occurred in the waters of Yilan County, Taiwan on June 14 and the magnitude 5.5 earthquakes that occurred in the waters of Hualien County, Taiwan on July 26. In October, Taiwan quickly reported two earthquakes above magnitude 3.

3. Tibet
Since this year (as of October 31), Tibet has experienced 104 earthquakes of magnitude 3 or above, including 69 magnitude 3.0 to 3.9 magnitude 29 magnitude 4.0 to 4.9 magnitude 5, 5 magnitude 6.0 to 6.9 magnitude 6.9 1, and 0 magnitude 7.0 or above. The largest earthquake was a magnitude 6.6 earthquake that occurred in Nima County, Nagqu City, Tibet on July 23. In October, there were 5 earthquakes above magnitude 3 in Tibet.

4. Sichuan
Since this year (as of October 31), a total of 85 earthquakes of magnitude 3 or above have occurred in Sichuan, including 73 magnitude 3.0 to 3.9, 10 magnitude 4.0 to 4.9, 2 magnitude 5.0 to 5.9, and 0 magnitude 6.0 or above. The largest earthquake was a magnitude 5.6 earthquake that occurred in , Shiqu County, Ganzi Prefecture, Sichuan on April 1, 2020. In October, 14 earthquakes of magnitude 3 or above occurred in Sichuan.

5. Yunnan
Since this year (as of October 31), Yunnan has experienced 32 earthquakes of magnitude 3 or above, including 26 magnitude 3.0 to 3.9, 5 magnitude 4.0 to 4.9, 1 magnitude 5.0 to 5.9, and 0 magnitude 6.0 or above. The largest earthquake is a magnitude 5.0 earthquake that occurred in Qiaojia County, Zhaotong City, Yunnan on May 18, 2020. In October, no earthquakes of magnitude 3 or above occurred in Yunnan.
