DPP Taoyuan mayor candidate Lin Zhijian was involved in plagiarism suspicions. Chinese Kuomintang Taipei City Councilor Wang Hongwei disclosed on July 5 that the full text of Lin Zhijian's master's thesis at Taiwan's Chung Hwa University was 49 pages. Only 7 pages were not copied. According to Taiwan media reports, Wang Hongwei pointed out again on the 6th that she did not expect that even these 7 pages were still being copied. She said that after finding another piece of Lin Zhijian's "plagiarism puzzle", the plagiarism rate of the paper has reached as high as 94.1%.

Ling Tao, a candidate for Taoyuan City Council of the Chinese Kuomintang, added that Lin Zhijianshuo's article also involved plagiarism of the content of Volume 41, Issue 12 of "Quality Monthly" in December 2005, including Chinese and English punctuation marks, charts, and words that are all the same. Ling Tao questioned that Lin Zhijian claimed that the master's degree was a collaboration with the Bamboo Science Management Bureau. Only 5.9% is left, and it is difficult to convince outsiders to question this proportion. Ling Tao emphasized that the Chinese Kuomintang defended the "Copyright Law" and academic ethics. Taoyuan citizens also look forward to mayoral candidates with integrity and character, and asked the DPP to stop being a "pet team" that insists on escorting.
Wang Hongwei shouted, welcoming Lin Zhijian’s lawsuit and hoping that the court would hear it as soon as possible. She criticized Lin Zhijian's lawsuit as a political move.
