On March 13, International World Games Association (IWGA) Vice Chairman Max Bissopo and CEO Joachim Gaussow flew to Chengdu to meet at the International Olympic Committee Vice Chairman of the Chinese Olympic Committee and International Olympic Committee Vice Chairman Yu Zaiqing, accompanied by Vice Chairman Yu Zaiqing, conducted a two-day inspection and evaluation of Chengdu’s bid to host the 2025 World Games. Within 48 hours, IWGA officials inspected 10 sites and held 3 meetings, fully affirming Chengdu’s bid.

During the two-day inspection, the IWGA inspection team was deeply impressed by the software and hardware facilities in Chengdu. CEO Gao Suo believes that Chengdu's competition concept is highly consistent with the IWGA. The World Games advocates economical hosting of games and encourages host cities to use existing venues to host games. Among the competition venues for the 2025 World Games in Chengdu, 15 are existing venues and 4 are already established before Chengdu decided to bid for the 2025 World Games. What is the World Games? What are the events?

The World Games (World Games) is an international sports event. It was first held in California in 1981. It is held every four years. Each session is held in the year following the Olympic Games and lasts for 11 days. A total of ten games have been held so far, hosted by the International World Games Association (IWGA). The 9th World Games were held in Cali, Colombia, in July 2013. A total of about 4,500 athletes, coaches, referees and officials from 101 countries and regions participated. President of the International Olympic Committee Rogge and President of the International World Games Association Ron Froehlich attended the opening ceremony.

The 10th World Games took place in Wroclaw, , in . A total of about 3,500 athletes, coaches, referees and officials from 112 countries and regions participated in this competition. The 11th World Games will be held in 2021 in Birmingham, Alabama, USA.
