The Tamsui River Floodway between Taipei City and New Taipei City , also known as the Northern Floodway, diverts water from the Tamsui River, Keelung River, Xindian Creek, Jingmei Creek, Dahan Creek and other rivers to Guandu. From then on, it was continuously beautified, or the embankments were raised and repaired, turning it into a very large living space between Taipei City and New Taipei City.

1. The design concept of public works for flood control and disaster prevention should be closely integrated with the lives of urban residents and cannot be left empty. Since Taipei built this floodway, there have been almost no floods in the past 40 years. Disasters have been eliminated, and no matter how big the rainstorm is, Taipei can cope with it easily. But when there are no heavy rains, there is no sign of disaster at all. People can roam around freely. Unless the weather is too hot in summer or too cold in winter, people come to this public space to exercise, relax, and take a walk. Basically, Taipei City is completely free. , residents of New Taipei City took advantage of it. The coldest in Taipei is 10-15 degrees, and the hottest is 37 degrees.

Cities of all sizes can consider designing flood channels. In densely populated city centers, favorable conditions can also be created to design "flood channels" to facilitate the carefree life of ordinary people. 4. Taipei City is a basin. It was originally a large lake. It has been troubled by floods since ancient times. It has difficulty in drainage and has no terrain advantages. Relatively speaking, the urban spaces of mainland China are relatively wide, and sometimes there are terrain advantages. The design " "Floodway" shouldn't be very difficult and technically feasible. The key is that the design institute needs to fully accept this concept. Design and construction will take a long time.
