The funeral of famous writer and veteran journalist Cha Liangyong (pen name Jin Yong) was held at Hong Kong Funeral Home at 6 o'clock in the evening yesterday (12th).
Cha Leung-yong passed away in Hong Kong on October 30, 2018, at the age of 94. In 1955, by chance, he published his first martial arts novel "Book of Swords and Enmities" in "New Evening News" under the pen name "Jin Yong", which was very popular. He subsequently published 14 novels and 1 short story. By the time he completed "The Deer and the Cauldron" in 1972, he had readers all over the world and was the most influential martial arts novelist in the 20th century.
At about 3:05 yesterday afternoon, the funeral home received permission from the Cha family to open the memorial venue for filming, and more than a hundred media reporters were able to enter and watch.
The venue was solemn and elegant with white and yellow flowers as the main tone. The flowers surrounding Mr. Cha's photo were heart-shaped, more than one meter in diameter, and were illuminated by pale yellow lights as the visual focus.
According to Jin Yong’s own last wish, only relatives and friends were invited to attend the funeral. No religious ceremony was used, and there was no speech or mourning session. Everything was kept simple.

At 4:32 pm, the famous writer Ni Kuang and his wife Cai Lam came to the Hong Kong funeral parlor in the same car. Previously, Ni Kuang had stated that he would not attend the funeral, but today he still arrived at the funeral with Cai Lam early.
Alibaba Group Chairman Jack Ma is a big fan of Mr. Jin Yong. He also came to Hong Kong in the afternoon to mourn Jin Yong.
Zhang Jizhong, who has made many Jin Yong martial arts novels into TV series, and Huang Xiaoming, who played Guo Yang Guo, also came.
Zhang Jizhong said that he would continue to film Jin Yong's works. When asked by reporters "which one is it?", he affirmatively said: " Flying Fox Gaiden ". Huang Xiaoming said that he felt very honored to have photographed Jin Yong's works, so he must pay tribute to him.

In the afternoon, three literary and artistic workers from Inner Mongolia brought a leather painting made of Inner Mongolian cowhide to the funeral venue. It was said that the work took a week to complete. Based on the portrait of Jin Yong with a friendly smile, it is very three-dimensional.
The three people are Director Wang Xinmin of Inner Mongolia TV Station, Mr. Wang Jinjiang, Producer of Inner Mongolia TV Station, and Luo Jun, Dean of Inner Mongolia Chengde Academy and cultural scholar.
