Local governments will start administering the first dose of BNT vaccine to children aged 5 to 11 on May 22. Previous expert meetings have shortened the interval between the two doses, so 780,000 people have received the first dose from now on. Children who have received one dose can receive the second dose one after another.

Xinlin Elementary School in Linkou District, New Taipei City, started administering vaccinations to the lower grades in the morning, and it is expected that more than 400 doses will be administered today. Principal Liu Daode said that excluding sixth-grade graduates and children diagnosed within three months who cannot be vaccinated, more than 50% of children have received the second dose.
