Zhu De is one of the founders of the Republic and the founder of our army. He is the well-deserved first marshal and the "General Zhu" mentioned by Chairman Mao.
However, it was such an existence that almost became the deputy of another person. In order to win the joining of this person, our party even set up a special army to wait for him to come as the commander of the army. Zhu De was the deputy of him. However, later, was accidentally , and in the end all this did not happen, and he failed to reach the height of President Zhu.
So, who is this person? Why do you value him so much? Why did he fail to get what he wanted in the end?
Wei Chu's deeds
This person is called Wei Chu.
Wei Chu was born in 1883. He is from Anlong, Guizhou. He has been from poor family since childhood. He was supported by his grandfather and entered a private school to study. He studied hard and seriously. When he was young, he had the goal of being able to get fame and achieve success. However, the late Qing government was already corrupt. With the advancing knowledge and the influence of reform and reform , Wei Chu began to accept advanced ideas.
In the 28th year of the Guangxu period, that is, in 1905, Wei Chu returned to his hometown to serve as a teacher in higher primary schools. He felt deeply political corruption and social darkness, especially when he saw with his own eyes that ethnic minorities were bullied, he chose to join the army and join the new army in Yunnan.
1909, he was admitted to the special class of Yunnan Martial Arts Hall. and Zhu De were classmates in the first session. He came into contact with a lot of military knowledge in it, laying the foundation for his subsequent participation in Xinhai Revolution .
Later during the Republic of China, he participated in the National Protection Movement, entered Sichuan to fight, and then participated in the Law Protection War. By 1920, he was already the leader of the 6th Regiment of the Yunnan Army.
1922, Tang Jiyao instructed Wu Xuexian to kill Gu Pinzhen, and then led his troops to Liuzhou, Guangxi. Under the instructions of Sun Yat-sen, Wei Chu was located in the Yunnan Army and the Gui Army, to fight against Chen Jiongming's troops in the east, and defend the revolutionary base in Guangdong.
In all major battlefields, Wei Chu made outstanding achievements in combat and was the commander of the 3rd Mixed Brigade with his merits. Since then, he has supported Sun Yat-sen's new Three Principles of the People.
During the Revolution, Wei Chu was elected as the representative of the Second National Congress of the Kuomintang. Later, he led his army to participate in the Northern Expedition and served as the leader of the 22nd Regiment of the 8th Division. Sun Yat-sen's unexpected death made Wei Chu feel that the national revolution had a crisis, especially the various actions after Chiang Kai-shek made Wei Chu feel that Wei Chu was disgusted.
As the director of the Political Department, the Communist Party of China member Zhu Kejing actively carried out his work on him. Coupled with his contact with his former friend Zhu De, Wei Chu even more disgusted with the rule of the Chiang Kai-shek government. Especially on the eve of the Nanchang Uprising, Chiang Kai-shek's persecution of Communist Party members reached its peak, and Wei Chu was once inspired to participate in the Nanchang Uprising.
1927 In the early morning of August 1, 1927, the Nanchang Uprising broke out. On that day, Liu Bocheng, Zhou Enlai, Ye Ting and others held a meeting to determine the command organization and reorganize the uprising troops. Among them, one of the appointments was: abolished the 9th Army of the former 4th Army, appointed Wei Chu as the commander of the 9th Army, and Zhu De as the deputy commander.
by chance, eventually it became a pity
In fact, according to Zhu De and others' expectations, Wei Chu should have been a member of the uprising, but later Wei Chu got sick at this time, resulting in failure to participate in the uprising. But even so, in order to win him, he was still specially set up the 9th Army for Wei Chu, and the position of general commander was handed over to him.
During the Nanchang Uprising, it was uprising under the banner of the Kuomintang. Therefore, the main second front army of the Nanchang Uprising was actually the Second Front Army of the National Revolutionary Army. Therefore, the people who were very rebeling in the team at that time were actually a member of the National Revolutionary Army. Wei Chu was the commander of the 28th Division of the 9th Army of the Revolutionary Army at that time. His joining could lead the 9th Army better, but by chance.
This has to be said to be a regret for Wei Chu, because he was ready to participate in the uprising at that time; at the same time, this is also an eternal regret of the Chinese revolution, because Wei Chu was better at abilities and positions than Zhu De at that time. If he participated in the revolution, then the Chinese revolution would have more support. What about
? What is Wei Chu’s fate?
In fact, Wei Chu recovered from illness and returned to the 28th Division of the 9th Army of the National Revolutionary. At this time, Chiang Kai-shek asked him to join other troops to recover the troops of the Nanchang Uprising.
originally wanted to become a member of the rebel army, but now he is going to encircle and suppress the rebel army. Wei Chu naturally would not do his best. So he "didly disobeyed" and chased for three days and rested for two days, and watched the rebel army leave step by step.
Although he was in the National Government, his dissatisfaction with Chiang Kai-shek became stronger, especially when Wei Chu saw Chiang Kai-shek constantly persecuting Communists and progressive people at that time, he was even more dissatisfied with Chiang Kai-shek's government.
Later, he joined the anti-Chiang government established by Li Jishen, Cai Tingkai and others. However, after the Central Plains War in , Chiang Kai-shek opened the major factions within the Kuomintang, which made Chiang Kai-shek extremely powerful, and only with the army had power. Although Li Jishen and others had great say in the Kuomintang, it was useless.
In the end, the "anti-Chiang government" was defeated, Wei Chu was wanted, and eventually retired with a pseudonym.
came out of the mountain during the Anti-Japanese War, and retired during the Civil War
Wei Chu lived in seclusion in his hometown until 1937. In this year, Wei Chu, who was nearly fifty years old, decided to come out again. The reason for his outgoing was that the outbreak of the Anti-Japanese War .
He joined the 58th Army formed by the National Government and became the commander of the newly formed 12th Division. Some people may ask why he didn't go to our party. It was actually very simple. In order to "unified front", our party's army was also incorporated into the National Army. It was the 8th Army of the Kuomintang, which was later the "Eighth Route Army".
Therefore, it has no effect on which team Wei Chu joined, and he hopes to prepare for another uprising in the National Government. In fact, he always hopes that the National Government can inherit Sun Yat-sen's will and benefit the Chinese nation.
is just Wei Chu’s idea is good, but it has not been realized. After the successful War of Resistance Against Japan, he watched the Kuomintang fight for power within the country, especially Chiang Kai-shek planned to rekindle the domestic war . Disappointed, he decided to retreat again and withdraw from the military .
Until the victory of the War of Liberation, the founding of New China. Wei Chu, who was already 256 years old, served as a consultant to the Yunnan Provincial Government Office. can also be considered as joining the work of our party, fulfilling the regret of not being able to participate in the uprising due to illness many years ago.
Summary:
Looking back on Wei Chu's life, he missed too many by mistake. Some people say that if Ye Ting had no accidents and had revolutionized until , the founding of New China was founded, then his achievements must have been one of the founding marshals.
Wei Chu is the same. If the disease had not happened that year, Wei Chu's achievements would probably be even more brilliant than Zhu De and would become one of the most dazzling people in the Republic. However, history has no ifs and will not come back. We can only sigh that things in the world are impermanent, which makes people sigh!
