Li Zicheng was just an ordinary farmer in the Ming Dynasty at the beginning, but he seized this opportunity and created a career. In the thirteenth year of Chongzhen, peasant uprisings broke out in various places. The most powerful force was Zhang Xianzhong's army, and the Ming Dynasty also sent an army to suppress Zhang Xianzhong. At this moment, Li Zicheng seized the opportunity and led the masses into Henan. He knows what the working people need. So after Li Zicheng broke into Henan, he opened warehouses to release grain. In this way, more farmers joined Li Zicheng's team.
Li Zicheng's team grew stronger and stronger, and later he led the team all the way into the Forbidden City. However, Li Zicheng hadn't stabilized his regime before he began to enjoy it. After entering the city, the peasant rebel army burned, killed and looted wildly, and suddenly lost the popular support. Li Zicheng, who had no support from farmers, was quickly defeated.
How did Li Zicheng die in the end? In fact, experts and scholars have already given answers. It turned out that after Li Zicheng's defeat, he fled all the way to the south, thinking of Hunan to gain a foothold. When Li Zicheng passed through Jiugong Mountain in Hubei on May 17, 1645, he heard that the local Yuan Emperor statue was very effective. Li Zicheng boarded alone and bowed down. Unprepared Li Zicheng was killed by a local villager who never thought he was accidentally killed. A generation of heroes did not die on the battlefield, but was accidentally killed by a few villagers. The method of death was really useless.
