There are many non-Chinese descendants in China, such as Kaifeng Jews who came to China as early as the Northern Song Dynasty. So they settled in China, they still retain the Jewish culture. In fact, apart from Jews, China still has many descendants of Western Regions and Romans. More than two thousand years ago, a 6,000-man Roman army disappeared. After more than two thousand years, their traces and descendants were discovered in China.
A remote village beside the ancient Silk Road in Hexi Corridor, Gansu, looks a bit different, because the people who live here do not look like Chinese. As everyone knows, the Chinese have yellow skin and black hair, but the people in this small village have yellow hair, blue eyes and a tall nose. If you pass by, you must be very curious, but the locals are used to it, because this group of people live here not a day or two.
According to records and textual research, this group of people living here has a history of thousands of years, or even two thousand years. The experts didn't know their identities at first, because Zhelaizhai is mostly the same as the villages in northwest China, which is obviously not visible from the architecture. So they could only start from the tombs, and the sky paid off. Archaeologists discovered a large number of tombs from the Western Han Dynasty. However, they found a very strange problem, these tombs are almost all men.
From the point of view of their bones, they are taller than normal Chinese, and they are as tall and strong as the modern ones. Preliminary speculation is that experts believe that they should be aliens from the West. But the small village is deserted. If they are businessmen, why not go to densely populated areas? Moreover, there has not been a large number of Western Regions business groups in this period, so experts believe that they cannot be descendants of the Western Regions business groups.
For this reason, they carried out a DNA test and found out. They do have European genes, but because of more than two thousand years of intermarriage, the genes have long been difficult to mix. Who are they? Then, through the ruins of the ancient city of Zhelaizhai, people successfully combined the Zhelaizhai people with a record. According to historical records, in 36 BC, the protector of the Western Regions Gan Yanshou and deputy school Wei Chen Tang brought 40,000 horses to a fierce battle with the Huns.
Among them, the Xiongnu sent a strange-looking team, and the group used a strange formation. When the enemy attacked, they surrounded themselves with shields, and the people in the circle raised the shields above their heads. This method of combat is unique to the ancient Roman army. In addition, the "Han Shu" records the ending. It was difficult for the Han army to win the battle, and they brought the rest back to the Western Han Dynasty. By comparison, the people in Zhelaizhai adore bulls, and there are games like bullfighting.
And these are the customs of the Romans, the people who come to the village are the descendants of the ancient Roman prisoners? Experts conducted repeated research and found that a Roman army of 6,000 had disappeared during the same period. It was about 53 BC, and the Roman legions fought against the Parthian army. Among them, the eldest son of the Roman military strategist Crassus did not die in battle, but broke through the security line with the army, but they did not return to Rome, but disappeared without a trace.
So it is very likely that Zhelaizhai is the descendant of this Roman legion, and that Zhelaizhai is also because of the Roman legion’s exodus in China has caused countless scholars to come and explore. However, this statement has not been confirmed so far. The main reason is that the genes are too chaotic. Whether the Roman legions are in China has become a historical mystery. But it cannot completely overturn the claim that they are not Romans. After all, there are too many similarities and the timeline is also consistent, so there is no conclusion so far. A more accurate determination may require more evidence.
