At the grand conferment ceremony in 1955, Jiang Tengjiao, who was only 36 years old, was awarded the rank of major general and became the founding major general of New China. He became the founding major general at the age of 36, which shows that Jiang Tengjiao's performance during the revolutionary period was very outstanding. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Jiang Tengjiao served as political commissar of the Air Force of the Nanjing Military Region and was a senior cadre of our army.

However, while working at Nanjing Military Region, Jiang Tengjiao repeatedly created conflicts and even forced Xu Shiyou, then commander of the Nanjing Military Region, to return home. After Chairman Mao learned about this incident, he specifically criticized Jiang Tengjiao and commented that Jiang Tengjiao "cannot be reused." The person we are going to talk about today has a great relationship with Jiang Tengjiao. She is Jiang Tengjiao's wife, and her name is Li Yanping. So, what is the story about Li Yanping?

Li Yanping was born in Heilongjiang in 1930. The second year after Li Yanping was born, Japan created the September 18th Incident in the Northeast and occupied our country h In the Northeast region, Li Yanping has lived under the rule of the Japanese invaders since she can remember. She has also witnessed the numerous crimes committed by the Japanese invaders in the Northeast. At the same time, she has also witnessed our party leading the people of all ethnic groups in the country to achieve victory in the Anti-Japanese War and driving away the Japanese invaders.
During the War of Liberation in 1947, Li Yanping joined the army and joined the Northeast Democratic Alliance. Jiang Tengjiao was also active in the Northeast at that time. In 1949, Li Yanping and Jiang Tengjiao married. After their marriage, they gave birth to a total of eight children, seven daughters and one son.

After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Li Yanping spent most of his time following Jiang Tengjiao's workplace and changing his residence. As he occupied a high position, Jiang Tengjiao gradually came together with Lin Liguo and others, and even participated in Lin Liguo's conspiracy. In 1971, the September 13th Incident occurred. On September 15, Jiang Tengjiao fully explained his involvement in Lin Liguo's conspiracy to his wife Li Yanping. Li Yanping was frightened when she heard it. She had no idea that her husband was so bold. But the deal was already done, and Li Yanping had no choice but to wait with her husband for the judgment of fate.
Soon after, Jiang Tengjiao was placed under quarantine and review. During the investigation of Jiang Tengjiao, the task force also approached Li Yanping and asked her to confess her husband's crimes. Li Yanping knew that her husband would not be able to escape this time, so she simply wrote a detailed document to expose her husband and handed it over to the staff of the task force on December 27, 1971, taking the initiative to expose her husband's crimes.

After Jiang Tengjiao was censored, Li Yanping was also implicated. In 1975, she was sent to a farm in Hong'an, Hubei for labor reform, and spent a difficult time. In 1979, the central government decided to publicly try the relevant personnel of the "Two Cases", and Jiang Tengjiao also became one of the principal culprits in the "Two Cases". For this reason, Li Yanping returned to Beijing from Hubei and was re-examined.
Li Yanping knew that her husband's crimes were heinous. She privately believed that her husband would be sentenced to death, so she wrote a letter of plea to the relevant departments, hoping that her husband would be given a lenient sentence. In 1981, Jiang Tengjiao was sentenced to 18 years in prison. At this time, Li Yanping felt relieved and waited for her husband to be released from prison.

After the verdict of the "Two Cases" was pronounced, it was found that Li Yanping was not involved in Jiang Tengjiao's conspiracy, and she was indeed unaware of Jiang Tengjiao's series of counter-revolutionary activities. After that, Li Yanping was rehabilitated, and she was also determined to be an administrative cadre at the 18th level and retired as a cadre. In his later years, Li Yanping and her husband Jiang Tengjiao lived in Taiyuan. They lived an ordinary life. It is worth mentioning that both Jiang Tengjiao and Li Yanping participated in the revolution and made contributions to the revolution, so their lives were still guaranteed in their later years.
Li Yanping enjoyed the treatment of an 18th-level administrative cadre, and Jiang Tengjiao was paid a monthly living allowance of 100 yuan, which later rose to 200 yuan. The couple lived an ordinary life in Taiyuan. Jiang Tengjiao passed away in 2009, and Li Yanping passed away in 2015.
