Chiang Kai-shek's original wife was Mao Fumei. When she was "stumbling around in the world" in Shanghai, she also took a concubine named Yao Yecheng . Later, she married Chen Jieru , but in the end she divorced her because she wanted to marry Soong Mei-ling .
Chiang Kai-shek had so many wives, but he only had two sons, one was his biological Jiang Jingguo , and the other was adopted Jiang Weiguo . In fact, in addition to these two sons, he also has a daughter, but very few people know about this.

Chiang Kai-shek
One year, a major general of the Kuomintang arrested him because he was suspected of having a relationship with the Communist Party by a spy. When his wife and mother-in-law found out, they were very anxious and had no choice but to ask Chiang Kai-shek for help. Chiang Kai-shek was already very guilty of the mother and daughter, so he ordered: "Let him go immediately. He is my son-in-law."
At this point, the Kuomintang only knew that Chiang Kai-shek had a daughter.
So what's going on? What happened to Chiang Kai-shek's daughter? What's going on with her husband?
From falling in love at first sight to feeling disgusted with
All this starts with Chiang Kai-shek's second wife Chen Jieru. Chen Jieru was born in Zhenhai, Zhejiang in 1906 and has been to Shanghai with her father since she was a child. In 1918, 12-year-old Chen Jieru was sent by her mother to study at the Patriotic Girls' School sponsored by Cai Yuanpei. It is precisely because of this that Chen Jierucai and Zhu Yimin, the wife of Xuxian, who later became a big chaebol in Shanghai, became friends.
1919, after Zhu Yimin became Zhang Jingjiang's wife, he often invited Chen Jie to visit his family. Here, when she saw Chiang Kai-shek for the first time, it made Chiang Kai-shek fall in love with her at first sight, and since then she has been reluctant to leave and almost crazy. However, it is a pity that Chiang Kai-shek's frequent courtships did not receive a response. Chen Jieru's parents even made it clear: "Our daughter is still young and is still studying now. In addition, you already have a wife and concubine, so forget it..."

Chen Jieru
However, there are unexpected situations. In the autumn of 1921, Chen Jieru's father died of a sudden heart attack in . The family instantly lost its source of income, and life became particularly difficult. At this time, Chiang Kai-shek, who had never given up, asked Zhang Jingjiang and his wife to be the old man to help them get married. In the end, Chen Jieru agreed to Chiang Kai-shek's proposal under the arrangement of her mother.
1 On December 5, 15-year-old Chen Jieru and 34-year-old Chiang Kai-shek held a wedding in Shanghai. After marriage, the two had a good relationship. It was when Chiang Kai-shek tried his best to jump from a military officer with low qualifications and low positions to the throne of China's supreme power. In this process, Chen Jieru gave Chiang Kai-shek great encouragement and support, always stayed by Chiang Kai-shek, never leaving him, and sharing the wind and rain.
As a well-educated woman, Chen Jieru's style and charm have also won the favor of Chiang Kai-shek and his comrades around him. It is worth mentioning that Zhou Enlai, who was the director of of the Political Department of Whampoa Military Academy at that time, also called Chen Jieru the "teacher's wife".
1922, Chen Jiongming betrayed the revolution and bombarded the Marshal's Mansion. After learning about this, Chiang Kai-shek hurriedly took Chen Jieru to Yongfeng ship , and the guards were beside Mr. Sun Yat-sen. After that, during the leadership of Chiang Kai-shek's Eastern Expedition, Western Expedition and Northern Expedition, Chen Jieru went together and was inseparable. It was also during this period that Chen Jieru met a large number of military and political leaders of the Kuomintang and their wives, such as Liao Zhongkai , He Xiangning and his wife, etc.
Chen Jieru was very old when she met Chiang Kai-shek. Rather than saying that she liked Chiang Kai-shek, she was more admiring him. But Chiang Kai-shek truly loved Chen Jieru and was deeply in love.

1925, Chen Jieru went to Guangzhou. On the morning of April 18, Chiang Kai-shek personally came to the dock to pick up his wife, but after waiting, he didn't receive it. He felt very upset. The next morning, Chiang Kai-shek came to the dock to pick up Chen Jieru again. This time he finally saw his beloved wife and was very happy inside and did not blame Chen Jieru for failing to make an appointment yesterday.
Chen Jieru is a very kind woman. After she got married to Chiang Kai-shek, she took great care of Chiang Kai-shek's previous wife and children, especially Mao Fumei and his son who had suffered misfortune, and helped her in many ways. When Chen Jieru lived in Shanghai and other places, she always tried her best to save money and helped Mao Fumei, who was far away in the countryside.
In 1922, Chiang Kai-shek's eldest son Jiang Ching-kuo left Fenghua and went to Shanghai to study for elementary and middle schools. During this period, he was with Chen Jieru and was taken care of by her. Therefore, Chiang Ching-kuo has always called Chen Jieru "Shanghai Mu Ma"; Chen Jieru also regarded Jiang Weiguo, who called her "cosmother", as his own.
Since Chen Jieru and Chiang Kai-shek had no children since they got married, So under the introduction of He Xiangning, Chiang Kai-shek adopted a baby girl. Chiang Kai-shek named the child "Jiang Yaoguang", which was Chiang Kai-shek's only daughter.
1927 was the most important year in Chiang Kai-shek's political career. After several ups and downs, he finally reached the center of the Chinese political stage and grasped the highest rule in the country. In order to achieve this goal, Chiang Kai-shek can be said to have used good intentions and used any means, including a political marriage with Soong Mei-ling.

Chiang Kai-shek and Soong Mei-ling
Chiang Kai-shek pursued Soong Mei-ling very early, in 1922. One day, Chiang Kai-shek met the youngest daughter of the Song family at a dance party. Soong Mei-ling was young and beautiful, and had a good family background, which made Chiang Kai-shek immediately distracted.
1926, when Chiang Kai-shek was in trouble in Nanchang, in order to benefit the Kong and Song families, Song Ailing again proposed to Chiang Kai-shek to marry Soong Mei-ling as his wife, so as to facilitate the efforts of Western support. Chiang Kai-shek had to tell Chen Jieru about this political marriage. Chen Jieru almost fainted after hearing this, and could not say a word for a while.
In August 1927, Chen Jieru took a boat to the United States accompanied by Zhang Jingjiang's daughter. Just when she was going to the United States, newspapers in Shanghai suddenly published a Notice titled "Cheng Zhongzheng": "In the tenth year of the Republic of China, the original wife Mao and Zhongzheng officially divorced. As for the other two families, they are not married, and now they are broken with Zhongzheng. Now, except for having two sons at home, they have no wife and daughter."
Chen Jieru was like a thunderclap after hearing this news, and she was in pain. She didn't expect that Chiang Kai-shek not only wanted herself, but also her daughter. After that, Chen Jieru never married for her whole life and used all her energy to further her studies and finally obtained her master's degree. A few years later, Chen Jieru returned to China and lived with her adopted daughter Jiang Yaoguang.
Jiang Yaoguang, like her mother, had a marriage that was not very smooth. Her first husband was a North Korean. She insisted on marrying the other party despite Chen Jieru's opposition and later gave birth to two children. I thought I could live happily, but who would have thought that this Korean was actually a Japanese spy and fled after Japan surrendered unconditionally.

Lu Jiuzhi
Jiang Yaoguang is difficult to live in Shanghai with two children alone. Later, with the introduction of his friend, he married Lu Jiuzhi, who is over 40 years old. doesn’t know that this person named Lu Jiuzhi has a big background, so what’s going on?
From a powerful family to a revolutionary torrent
Lu Jiuzhi 6 was born in a bureaucratic family in 1902. His father was a staff member of Zhejiang warlord Lu Yongxiang , and he held the power of life and death. Under the influence of the May Fourth Movement in his youth, Lu Jiuzhi read a lot of progressive books and magazines, yearning for a revolutionary life, and thus disgusted his current life.
When Lu Jiuzhi was 18 years old, he was admitted to Shanghai Baocheng Spinning Factory as an apprentice, and later came to Hangzhou Type A Industrial School to study. Not long afterwards, he met Cai Shuhou, an underground party member, and together with him, he established an underground liaison station for our party in Shanghai under the cover of founding a motor company. At that time, Ye Jianying, Zhang Qiuren , Li Weihan and others often came to visit each other and contact work.
1926, under the introduction of Communist Party member Xu Meikun , Lu Jiuzhi participated in the work of the Shanghai Federation of Trade Unions Secretariat and became the contact person for Zhou Enlai's underground messenger.

1927, with the outbreak of the "April 12 Counter-Revolutionary Coup", the Kuomintang used rogues such as Chen Qun, Yang Hu and other rogue organizations in Shanghai to appoint the Qinghong Gang leader Chang Yuqing who killed people without blinking as the Minister of the Investigation Department. They arrested Communist Party members and patriots everywhere in Shanghai and created terrorist activities. Due to the situation at that time, Lu Jiuzhi was arranged to secretly follow and pursue the information.
One day, a spy from the trade union investigation team reported: "Chen Geng often appears in Dr. Niu Huilin's clinic." But the spy guarded at the entrance of the clinic for several days, but he did not find Chen Geng. Later, another spy reported that he had discovered Xiang Zhongfa's residence, but when they arrived, Xiang Zhongfa had long disappeared.
It turned out that after Lu Jiuzhi received the spy, he immediately informed Zhou Enlai of the secret history and asked them to tell the comrades about this matter. trade union investigation team found that these arrests had failed. They knew that someone must have leaked the secrets inside and thought that Lu Jiuzhi was very suspicious, but unfortunately, because there was no conclusive evidence, they had to fire him first.
Lu Jiuzhi was fired and went to Guangzhou to take refuge. Li Guozhan was also heading to Guangzhou together. Li Guozhan is Ye Jianying's subordinate. After they arrived in Guangzhou, they lived with Ye Jianying's home. After a period of time, Ye Jianying discovered that Lu Jiuzhi not only had a background, but also a patriotic young man, so he proposed to use the bureaucratic family to do underground work in Shanghai.
Not long after, under the arrangement of Ye Jianying, Lu Jiuzhi returned to Shanghai and became the secretary of the Investment Promotion Bureau, and did a lot of work for our underground party.

In June 1929, Sayo Sato, general secretary of the Communist Party of Japan, returned home from the Soviet Union at a meeting and passed by Shanghai. Zhou Enlai sent someone to tell Lu Jiuzhi that he would do a good job of covering Sano Xue. In this way, Sano Jue was hidden in Rikuyu's apartment. The two got along in the name of teachers and students. However, because the hiding of Sano Jue was exposed, Rikuyu had no choice but to flee to Japan.
First arrived in Japan, in order to unite and improve the strength of students, Lu Jiuzhi, Liao Chengzhi and others organized a revolutionary group called "Reading Club".
1932, Lu Jiuzhi received a special mission. He and Cai Shuhou participated in Far East Intelligence Bureau of the Communist International with the approval of the Party. They are both leaders of our Party Central Committee and leaders of the Far East Bureau. The Chinese person in charge of the Far East Bureau is Liu Jinzhong and Xiao Bingshi, while Lu Jiuzhi is the person in charge of the Tokyo Station. His main task is to collect Japanese intelligence.
During this period, Rikuyuki took the risk of his life-threatening death and sneaked into the Ueno Library to take pictures of Japanese military fortresses. In addition, he also obtained a lot of important information from the Japanese army and political circles. All these intelligences were brought back to China by Cai Shuhou and played an important role in our country.
After the outbreak of the full-scale war of resistance, Lu Jiuzhi withdrew to the motherland with the embassy.
A lieutenant general of a country was arrested by spies. Chiang Kai-shek: He is my son-in-law
In 1945, Japan announced unconditional surrender. Unexpectedly, he turned into a major general counsel for the commander-in-chief of the Third Front Army, Tang Enbo, and was specifically responsible for the publicity and education of Japanese overseas Chinese and Japanese prisoners. Tang Enbo and Lu Jiuzhi had dinner at the same table and went in and out in the same car. When Tang Enbo "sential visits" in a private manner, Lu Jiuzhi followed; when Tang Enbo inspected the fortifications, Lu Jiuzhi was also by his side. So why did Tang Enbo trust Lu Jiuzhi so much?

Tang Enbo
In fact, the two met very early and had a close relationship. When Tang Enbo was studying law at Meiji University in Japan, he wanted to study in Army Non-commissioned Officer School instead, but because he had no way, he was not approved. Fortunately, with the sponsorship of Lu Jiuzhi's father, Tang Enbo got what he wanted, and he never forgot this kind of kindness.
Later, with the recommendation of Lu's father, Tang Enbo curled with Chiang Kai-shek's celebrity - Chen Yi , who once held an important position in the Kuomintang. Only after his first promotion was he was valued by Chiang Kai-shek. Therefore, Tang Enbo has a deep relationship with Lu Jiuzhi, and is as close as brothers.
When Lu Jiuzhi was proud of his officialdom, he became frustrated again. Later, under the introduction of Mrs. Hu Jingru, Secretary-General of Tang Enbo, he met Chiang Kai-shek's daughter Jiang Yaoguang and got married. Someone who knew about this incident jokingly called him Chiang Kai-shek's "favorite son-in-law".
After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, as many as one million Japanese prisoners scattered across the country, and most of them gathered in major cities such as Beiping , Shanghai, and Wuhan. Due to traffic congestion and other reasons, many Japanese prisoners of overseas Chinese cannot return to their country, which can easily cause ideological confusion.
As the commander, Tang Enbo, in order to establish his personal prestige among the masses and compete for Chiang Kai-shek's trust, he asked Lu Jiuzhi and said, "I think you can run an Japanese newspaper to manage Japanese overseas Chinese and Japanese prisoners." Lu Jiuzhi nodded and said, "What you said makes sense."
After obtaining the consent of the bottom line, Lu Jiuzhi decided to name the newspaper "Renovation Daily", hosted by Lu Jiuzhi, and was officially founded in Shanghai on October 5, 1945. This newspaper emphasizes the need to maintain peace in Asia and the world, and also reiterates the domestic situation and conducts a peaceful solution in accordance with the principles of the Kuomintang-Republic Discussion.

After this newspaper was published, it received praise from many Japanese prisoners and Chinese and foreigners, and more than 100,000 copies were sold every day. However, it is a pity that the good times did not last long. As Chiang Kai-shek personally tore up the signed " Double Ten Agreement ", the sales of "Renovation Daily" became worse and worse, and even spies came to Lu Jiuzhi to trouble.
Tang Enbo was very angry when he learned about this, and immediately recalled Lu Jiuzhi to question the crime and ordered the "Renovation Daily" that had not been issued yet. Because he and Lu Jiuzhi had decades of friendship, it was difficult to scold him in person, so he had to scold him: " Jin Xuecheng actually used my name and spent my money to be a Communist. If it weren't for your sake, I would have shot him to death!" Lu Jiuzhi understood what Tang Enbo meant, so he resigned the next day.
Nanjing authorities were not satisfied with this result and actually sent Zhongtong spies to arrest all people related to the "Renovation Daily", including Lu Jiuzhi. When Chen Jieru and his daughter Jiang Yaoguang learned that Lu Jiuzhi had been arrested by the Kuomintang, they were very anxious and had no choice but to ask Chiang Kai-shek for help. When Chiang Kai-shek divorced Chen Jieru, he felt guilty. Now that his ex-wife and daughter are coming to ask for help from him, he immediately agreed.
Not long after, Chiang Kai-shek ordered: "Let Lu Jiuzhi go, he is my son-in-law." Only then did the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection find out that Chairman Jiang had a daughter.

In the early 1949, most parts of the country had been liberated. For the big city of Shanghai, whether it is a peaceful liberation or an armed takeover, it is a difficult problem for our party. However, after discussion, the central government finally decided to take over peacefully, and the main person who implemented the peaceful reover was Tang Enbo. If Tang Enbo could revolt, our army would be able to cross the river smoothly and liberate Shanghai peacefully without any effort of one soldier.
In April 11949, the Central East China Bureau and the East China Military and Political Committee decided to instigate Tang Enbo, and the person who carried out this important task was Lu Jiuzhi, who had a deep affection with him. Lu Jiuzhi felt a great responsibility after accepting the task, because there were two things that made him not very confident in the Tang Enbo uprising:
First, Tang Enbo's military advisor persuaded him to revolt, but not only failed but was assassinated;
Second, Tang Enbo's "Enbo", also mentioned above, also advised him to surrender. Unexpectedly, Tang Enbo not only refused to listen to the advice, but instead reported the matter to Chiang Kai-shek, which made Chen Yi put under house arrest by Chiang Kai-shek in Quzhou .
From the above two things, it is enough to see Tang Enbo's loyalty to Chiang Kai-shek. Therefore, although Lu Jiuzhi and Tang Enbo had a deep friendship, they were not confident that they could persuade him to surrender. Despite this, Lu Jiuzhi decided to give it a try.

That night, Lu Jiuzhi came to Tang Enbo's house. As soon as he saw him, he said, "I am very worried about the current situation. If the Kuomintang-Republic negotiations break down, the Communist Party will cross the river immediately. I wonder how you will deal with it at that time?"
Tang Enbo said, "The Communist Party has neither aircraft nor warships, and wants to break through. It is very difficult to break the Yangtze River . Even if they are allowed to cross the river, they will not be able to break through the fortifications I set up. This is enough to deal with them for a while and to support reinforcements."
Lu Jiuzhi reminded: "Now the people in Shanghai are panic, the morale of the army has long been disintegrated, and many soldiers have fled. If we do not follow the will of the people, continue to fight against the Communist Party. If that is the only one who was injured in the end was the innocent people. I wonder what the commander-in-chief thinks about General Fu Zuoyi’s surrender? Did he get the right move? "
Tang Enbo couldn’t help frowning after hearing Lu Jiuzhi's words, then walked around the room, then stopped and stared at Lu Jiuzhi and said, "It is said that Fu Zuoyi’s whereabouts are unknown now?" Lu Jiuzhi saw that Tang Enbo was a little moved, so he said, "This should be a rumor. As far as I know, Fu Zuoyi will be The army was treated well after surrendering and was deeply loved by the people! "
Tang Enbo's face became more and more serious, but he was still unwilling to let go. He said, "This matter is extraordinary. I have to consider it, let's talk about it later."

The next day,Tang Enbo invited Lu Jiuzhi to have breakfast together. He thought it was a good opportunity to persuade Tang Enbo to surrender, so he happily agreed. At the dinner table, Lu Jiuzhi said, "Commander Tang, it's not a time to hesitate now, it's better to make a decision early!" Tang Enbo did not make a direct statement after hearing this, but said: "I took Shanghai from the Japanese, and I can't bear to make it ruined. As the sinner of the people, I will hand over Shanghai to the people of Shanghai intact!"
Under Lu Jiuzhi's persuasion, Tang Enbo's thoughts began to change. However, at this moment, Chiang Kai-shek and his son came to Shanghai on April 27 to personally supervise Tang Enbo's battle with our army. Perhaps it was because Chiang Kai-shek realized the change in Tang Enbo's thoughts, so he asked his second son Jiang Weiguo to live in Tang Mansion and monitor him at any time.
Lu Jiuzhi thought that the persuasion of surrender could not be delayed, so he found an opportunity to say to Tang Enbo: "Now Chairman Jiang is all in Shanghai, so you must not miss the opportunity and never come again. I hope you can make a quick decision so that you can become famous in one fell swoop!"
Tang Enbo was shocked when he heard Lu Jiuzhi's words. He did not expect Lu Jiuzhi to say these words. After all, Chiang Kai-shek was his "father-in-law". Just when Tang Enbo wanted to speak, Jiang Weiguo walked in with a smile. He saw the two of them nervously and said jokingly: "What, you two don't welcome me?"
Facing Jiang Weiguo, an uninvited guest, Lu Jiuzhi and Tang Enbo had to exchange greetings and say something else to deal with it. Later, Chiang Kai-shek asked Tang Enbo to go to the warship near Changxing Island. Lu Jiuzhi also lost the opportunity to meet Tang Enbo again, so his rebellion was naturally stopped. It is worth mentioning that on the eve of Shanghai's retreat, Tang Enbo asked Lu Jiuzhi to go to Taiwan with him, but was rejected by Lu Jiuzhi.

Lu Jiuzhi, Jiang Yaoguang
1955, because of some things, Lu Jiuzhi was implicated in a case and sentenced to 15 years in prison. In 1961, Chen Jieru came to Beijing in person to plead with Zhou Enlai. Facing his former "master's wife", Zhou Enlai also had some feelings. So with Zhou Enlai's intervention, Lu Jiuzhi was released from prison by on parole and in advance.
In 1965, the central government appointed Lu Jiuzhi as the librarian of the Shanghai Museum of Literature and History; in 1971, Chen Jieru died in Hong Kong, and Hong Kong sent telegrams to Jiang Yaoguang many times, asking her to handle the funeral and inherit the inheritance as soon as possible. After Jiang Yaoguang handled the matter in Hong Kong, he stayed there to settle down, separated from Lu Jiuzhi.
In that special era, Lu Jiuzhi became a homeless old man, and finally escaped with the help of the United Front Work Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. In 1983, Jiang Yaoguang's 60th birthday, Lu Jiuzhi was approved to visit relatives in Hong Kong. At this point, his father, who had been separated for many years, finally met again.

In his later years, Lu Jiuzhi once said:
"Cheng Kai-shek is Chiang Kai-shek, I am me, and we cannot confuse the two of us. Although I am his nominal 'son-in-law', we have less than a day together. I didn't think about taking advantage of him before, and now I don't want to be famous because of being his son-in-law. Fame and fortune don't matter to me!"
