"Book of Sui": Emperor Wen of Sui was the prime minister, and he entered the palace to lead his trusted soldiers.
After Yang Jian became the prime minister, Dugu Kai relied on Yang Jian and managed the personal soldiers in the prime minister's mansion, and was the head of the guard.
581, Yang Jian replaced the Northern Zhou Dynasty to establish Sui Dynasty. Dugu Kai, as the leader of the guard, naturally rose and became the general of the right gate, and was appointed as the Duke of Ruyang County. Later, he was transferred to the position of General of the Right Guard.

At the end of the Sui Dynasty, the world was in chaos. In 618, Dugu Sheng discovered that Yu Wenhua and others were going to murder Yang Guang. He once asked Pei Qiantong why he wanted to mobilize the army. Pei Qiantong said that it was not about the general's affairs and should not act rashly. Dugu Sheng was angry when he heard this and fought with Dugu Kaiyuan with Pei Qiantong's subordinates. Unfortunately, he was outnumbered and was killed.

Dugu Sheng even fought hard during the Jiangdu mutiny and died for the country! The reason why the two brothers were so loyal to the Sui Dynasty was that Dugu Xin's daughter Dugu Jialuo , she was Yang Jian's queen.Their father Li Tun was given the surname by Dugu, and he is the retainer of the Dugu family!
