Fu Chongbi's mind again, recalling the specific work that Premier Zhou personally guided himself: "Prime Minister Zhou's lifelong pursuit and lifelong struggle are for the interests of the people, for the prosperity and strength of the motherland, and for the ultimate realization of the lofty goal of communism, Premier Zhou will always be the highest model of our life."

Fu Chongbi As a general who has experienced many battles, he has always had a good habit, that is, pay special attention to learning whether in war years or in peacetime!
After the founding of New China in , Fu Chongbi participated in the Battle of Resisting U.S. Aggression and Aiding Korea and experienced the regularization of the army. This also made him feel more and more that he should learn and further improve himself, so that he can do all the work of the army better.
In 1956, Fu Chongbi wrote a report to the military region, explaining the reasons why he wanted to learn, but he did not pass. The military region believes that Fu Chongbi needs to preside over the current work of the army.

Then the two talked about the problems of military academies. In August 1960, Fu Chongbi had an operation at 301 Hospital, and he did not attend the college graduation ceremony.
After Fu Chongbi was discharged from the hospital, the organization asked him to rest first and arrange work for him after he recovered. After a period of rest, Fu Chongbi felt that she was almost well and could come out to work. At that time, the political commissar Zhu Liangcai of the Beijing Military Region also agreed to him return to the military region to work. Han Xianchu and Commander Yang Dezhi also invited him to work respectively.
After learning about it, Marshal Nie Rongzhen said to Fu Chongbi: "You should have a good rest for the time being and wait until you have good health.If you really can't stay, you can take a plane to inspect various places to prepare for your future comeback. "

On June 23, 1961, the Beijing Military Region forwarded the order of Premier Zhou Enlai on May 21, and Fu Chongbi was appointed as deputy commander of the Beijing Military Region. In this position, Fu Chongbi performed very well and was recognized by the leaders of the Party Central Committee. Later, with the development of the social situation, the Party Central Committee decided to establish a capital work leading group. The task was to clean up and rectify the public security of the capital and safeguard the security of the central and the capital.
In May 1966, Fu Chongbi was also invited to attend the first meeting when the capital work leading group was established. At that time, Fu Chongbi asked Marshal Ye Jianying in confusion: " Commander and political commissar both participated, why do I still want me to participate? "

In 1968, Fu Chongbi, accompanied by Comrade Chen Xilian, took a plane to the Shenyang Military Region. Before Fu Chongbi took office, Premier Zhou held his hand tightly and said: "You are in poor health, you must be well done. Don’t worry about things when you have work, you must stand the test. "
With Fu Chongbi's departure from Beijing, a generation of warriors has slowly faded out of people's sight. However, in Fu Chongbi's view, no matter what position he is in, as long as he can work for the people, there will be no other requirements.

In September 1974, Fu Chongbi received a notice from the staff: "I just received an order from the central government to ask you to go to Beijing immediately! "
After Fu Chongbi arrived in Beijing, Ye Jianying, Nie Rongzhen and other old coaches sent people to visit him and briefly asked about his situation. Not long after, Premier Zhou sent someone to pick Fu Chongbi up and wanted to talk to him about work issues.

In October 1974, Fu Chongbi returned to Beijing, where he had left for seven years. Not long after, the Central Military Commission appointed Fu Chongbi as the first deputy commander of the Beijing Military Region. Before Fu Chongbi returned to work in the Beijing Military Region, many old comrades met Fu Chongbi, such as Ye Jianying, Nie Rongzhen, Li Xiannian and others. On January 8, 1976, Premier Zhou died of illness. During that period, Fu Chongbi was busy with work in the military region and lived in Xishan and rarely went home. After learning about Premier Zhou's death, Fu Chongbi immediately went to the hospital to say goodbye to Premier Zhou's body. After walking out of the hospital, Fu Chongbi could no longer bear the grief in her heart, and tears couldn't help but flow.
On the day the body of Premier Zhou was cremated, Fu Chongbi and Qin Jiwei rushed to attend from the military region. According to Fu Chongbi's recollection:
From Babaoshan to Beijing Hospital, the streets were surrounded by people for dozens of miles long, and millions of people stood in the cold wind to see off Premier Zhou's hearse. Until very late, the people refused to leave.

After entering the 1980s, with the changes in the international environment, the Beijing Military Region and the Air Force were held in Zhangjiakou A large-scale modern synthetic combat exercise, many arms formed exercise troops and fought against each other.

In the subsequent years of work, Fu Chongbi always adhered to the leadership of the Party Central Committee and contributed to the modernization of the army. He took his own part.
In 1985, Fu Chongbi felt that he was old and was a little overwhelmed in the face of the situation. For this reason, he responded to the call of the Party Central Committee and took the initiative to withdraw from the leadership position, giving up space for young and strong comrades. After receiving Fu Chongbi's request, the Party Central Committee approved his request after discussion.
In June 1985, Fu Chongbi withdrew from the military leadership position and served as a member of the Central Advisory Committee.After becoming a member of the member of the Advisory Committee of the Central Committee, Fu Chongbi was also very concerned about national affairs. He often went to the grassroots to conduct investigations and research, put forward specific suggestions for improvement and implementation of the Party's work, and wrote many reports to the Central Committee, and many of the suggestions he made were adopted by the Central Committee.

On January 17, 2003, General Fu Chongbi died of illness in Beijing at the age of 87.
