Faced with the unattainable housing prices in Beijing, the 24-year-old Mao Zedong left Hunan for the first time and made a major decision: went to Beijing to move.
Although he was invited by his mentor Yang Changji with several classmates, he could not change his life in Beijing.
In order to save money, he and seven or eight people squeezed into the bunk bed of the rental house. It was so cold that it was dying in winter that there was only one thick cotton coat. At the coldest time, a few people could only wear it in a different way.
He started his first job in the Peking University library, with a monthly salary of 8 yuan, and then looked at the masters and professors who occasionally went to the library, who earned hundreds of yuan a month.
He is very humble in front of these people, not because of the low salary.
mainly because the "masters" of the Republic of China often have a high tone. It is difficult for this "poor student" who looks like a poor mountain valley to lower his body and take the initiative to deal with it.
For example, Hu Shi once refused to answer Mao Zedong's questions in class.

Mao Zedong was never afraid of anxiety
This is related to his long-term thinking and practice
Compared with Mao Zedong, young people who stay in Beijing now rarely visit the park regardless of spring, summer, autumn and winter.
Everyone has lost the mentality of wandering around as a whole. Everyone looks depressed and hastily, one is more anxious than the other.
In fact, many of the so-called anxiety we are now arising from inconsistent with the future and expectations, and the lack of confidence in the difficulties and challenges we will face in the future.
When we were young, we all learned the article "The Pony Crosses the River". Before crossing the river, Xiao Ma was worried and at a loss. Asking this and that was actually a manifestation of anxiety.
But when I checked Mao Zedong's various experiences and articles when he was young, I realized that he was never afraid of anxiety.
No matter how severe the situation is or how cruel the environment is, in the face of life and death, serious illness, misunderstanding, and even being criticized and excluded, he always has the mentality of "no matter how wind and waves blow, it is better than walking in the garden".
When you read the articles and poems he wrote, no matter where he is, you can always feel a vigorous and upward power and a spirit full of righteousness.
So, when everyone is anxious and depressed, you might as well read Chairman Mao’s poems and articles loudly.
Later, we summed up this mentality and spirit: Revolutionary Optimism . However, no matter how revolutionary it is, no one's optimism is born.
In fact, in that era, countless revolutionaries had doubts, confusion, even pessimism, disappointment, and escape betrayal. The question "How long can the red flag be fought?" was asked by more than one person in that era.
But only Mao Zedong gave a positive and correct answer. What he relies on is his long-term reading, thinking and practice, breaking through the limitations of ideological and cognitiveness, and ultimately establishing a strong spiritual belief at a higher level of thinking.
People who express despair in dangerous environments, people who cannot see the light in the dark are just cowards and opportunists. ——"Collected Works of Mao Zedong"
But this level of thinking is too high, and most people cannot do it.
But we can still learn and practice such thinking methods through our own analysis, work hard to change our mentality when facing difficulties, and ultimately change our future situation.

If you see the problem and recognize the problem, half of the problem will be solved. Blind self-confidence will inevitably lead to panic when problems and difficulties really arise.
In fact, for many people, the so-called difficulty is to break out of their comfort zone. Whether it is proactive or passive, force yourself to face the situation you were not familiar with.
Just as Mao Zedong said: What is difficulty? Familiar work no longer needs to be done, and unfamiliar work is forcing us to do it. This is difficulty.
Where there are conflicts that are resolved, there are problems. ——"Selected Mao Volume 3"
When the Seventh National Congress of the Communist Party of China was held in 1945, the situation was very good at that time. However, when Mao Zedong delivered the conclusion report of the conference on May 31, he unexpectedly said that he would "prepare to suffer losses."
He talked about seventeen issues in one breath -
For example, we should prepare to be scolded by foreigners; civil war broke out in ; foreign interference helped Chiang Kai-shek beat us; foreign countries did not recognize us; when the situation was not conducive to us, and several tens of thousands of party members were escaped and dispersed; pessimism and fatigue appeared in the party...
Mao Zedong talked about 17 issues at the Seventeen issues, as an important ideological method, left a deep impression on the representatives of Seventeen issues, and deeply influenced that generation of leading cadres.
Seventh representatives and later minister of the Ministry of Coal Industry Gao Yangwen recalled in his later years:
"Although these problems did not all appear in the future, if you are prepared to deal with the problems, you will have the guarantee of victory."
When Mao Zedong talked about why these difficulties were imagined, he explained:
"If we are not prepared to not imagine such difficulties, then the difficulties cannot be dealt with once they come, and with this preparation, it is easy to do things."

Practice a set of universal laws in the grasp of the rules
Every problem we face is like a lock. It is impossible to find a key that can open all locks, but it is possible to become an "expert" who can open all locks.
After a long-term training, some skilled locksmiths may know how to open a lock when they see it.
But the training carried out by locksmiths is skill training. What Mao Zedong conducted was a deliberate thinking training.
In fact, Mao Zedong also had many worries when he was young. But this kind of worry is not emotional anxiety, but more of a psychological thinking.
1917, he and Xiao Zisheng traveled to Hunan with and wrote many notes. When he returned to the First Division, his classmates who had read Mao Zedong’s notes on his study tour said that he was “private and worried about the world.”
When Mao Zedong was young, he was worried about how to change the poor and weak China, how to arouse the power of 40 million people, and build a new world. On top of this, he comprehensively used a variety of logical means to help himself think about problems.
For example, induction, "the strategic issue of China's revolutionary war"; interpretation, "a spark can start a prairie fire"; definition, "all reactionaries are paper tigers"; counter-inferior, "Why can China's red regime, ?" The most classic thing about
was that he accurately analyzed and predicted as early as 1917, and there will be a war between China and Japan within twenty years.

Within twenty years, one battle is not enough to survive, but the Chinese people are still in a state of tranquility and pay attention to the facts in the east."
1937 , the July 7 Incident of , the War of Resistance Against Japan broke out in full, which is exactly consistent with what Mao Zedong said, "There will be a battle within twenty years." What kind of judgment and thinking is this? And he was only in his twenties at that time, which was shocking.
It is in this day-to-day thinking training that he discovered the fundamental reason for determining and promoting the change and operation of everything. This thing is: law.
As long as you master the rules, you will master the secrets of understanding the various contradictions and connections between all things in the world. However, the rules of everything and everything are different. As Mao Zedong said, the truth doesn’t care whether it’s all.

I have written a lot about Mao Zedong's investigation before. Here is another example.
1930, Mao Zedong made a "Investigation in Dongtang and Other Places" during the march, but even this very small investigation, Mao Zedong felt it was very inspiring.
He himself said that before this investigation, the concept of many situations was vague. After the investigation, it was found that "who knew that the actual situation was completely different."
. Many people may misunderstand what a survey is. I thought that investigations must be about going out, going to the countryside, going to the suburbs, and going to interview one by one.
In fact, checking information is an investigation, looking at archives is an investigation, finding people to understand the situation is an investigation, asking questions is an investigation, and going to operate it in person is also an investigation. As long as you are learning more about analyzing and solving problems, this is a survey.
On the contrary, many people read a few books and worked for a while, and then they started to close down, feeling that they knew everything.

Continuously improve in the real world
Whether facing problems directly, thinking methods training, investigation and understanding the situation, it will eventually fall into action.
Just like how the horse hesitates and is afraid before crossing the river, how many people have given him many ideas. To overcome this difficulty, what is needed is to go down the river and try the water yourself.

In order to solve the problem of bridges or ships, the core is one word: do.
In real life, countless people are giants in thought and shorts in action.
How many young people are there in this world? When talking about dreams, entrepreneurship, and the future, they are eloquent and saliva flying. When it comes to the second step, if you write a plan or plan, half of the people will be delayed.
The third step is to implement the specific operation and implementation, and half of the people can give up. Then when we encounter difficulties in the implementation of the fourth step, we can re-analyze and make plans again. If we can still stick to the original point, we will probably not be left with 10%.
I remember a teacher said back then that year, don’t see that so many people prepare for the postgraduate entrance examination every year. Some people will give up during the review stage. When they confirm that the money is paid in the examination room, some people will give up, and some people will give up on the day of the exam.
So, even if you do nothing, as long as you persist until the exam and enter the examination room, you can eliminate a lot of people.

Of course, there is also a relationship between choice and effort. Is choice important or hard work important? It is always a question of whether a man speaks of his or her reason.
In fact, the key point is persistence. If you only like to make choices but never make persistence for a period of time, then it is definitely important to work hard; but if you work hard for a long time and persist until you are exhausted and still have not improved, you should think about whether it is time to change your choice.
