From January 15 to 17, 1935, the enlarged meeting of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee was held in the house of Bai Huizhang, the warlord of Guizhou in Zunyi .
The meeting was attended by Mao Zedong, Zhu De, Chen Yun, Zhou Enlai, Zhang Wentian, Bogu , Wang Jiaxiang, Deng Fa, Liu Shaoqi, He Kequan, Lin Biao, Nie Rongzhen, Peng Dehuai, Yang Shangkun, Zhuoran, Li Fuchun, Liu Bocheng, Deng Xiaoping, and Li De and Wu Xiuquan attended by a total of 20 people. At the
meeting, Bo Gu made a "positive report". When talking about the reasons for the failure of the fifth anti-encirclement and suppression, he emphasized the strength of the Kuomintang's military power and the weakness of the revolutionary forces across the country, but did not check for errors in military command.
Zhou Enlai gave a "deputy report". Zhou Enlai focused on military issues. He checked for major mistakes in command and took the initiative to assume his own responsibilities.
After Bo Gu and Zhou Enlai reported, Zhang Wentian spoke immediately. He spoke according to the outline, citing his name to criticize Bo Gu and Li De, known as "counter-report".
Zhang Wentian's "counter-report" made the crowd indignant, and the anger that had been accumulated for many days at Bo Gu and Li De's wrong leadership burst out.
When Zhang Wentian had just finished his counter-report, Mao Zedong made a speech, and his speech was summarized in three "political" ways.
The three "isms" summarized by Mao Zedong are quite profound:
first is adventurism~ refers to fighting Ganzhou , "seizing the central city, striving for one province or several provinces to win first."
, then conservatism , refers to the battle of Guangchang, position war, fortress against protection.
Then there is escapism ~ hastily breaking through and implementing escape.
After Mao Zedong finished speaking, Wang Jiaxiang continued to speak. His speech was very straightforward and he gave three opinions straightforward:
first, and fully agree with the speeches of Zhang Wentian and Mao Zedong.
Second, Red Army should be directed by someone like Mao Zedong with practical experience.
Third, cancel the military command of Li De and Bo Gu.
Wang Jiaxiang's speech was a strong support for Mao Zedong, and he cast a "key vote" on Zunyi Conference .
Mao Zedong, Zhang Wentian, and Wang Jiaxiang fired three shots one after another, completely shaking the status of Bo Gu and Li De.
Zhou Enlai was actually the supreme leader of the party’s army at this time. He was the organizer of the Zunyi Conference. In his speech, he fully recommended the future actions of Mao Zedong to lead the Red Army.
Zhou Enlai's support was the most critical vote at the parliamentary meeting.
After the Zunyi Conference, it was a foregone conclusion that Bo Gu stepped down. Finally, in a village called "Ji Ming San Provinces" in Shuitianzhai Township, Weixin County, Yunnan Province, Bo Gu ended his position as the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, and Zhang Wentian replaced Bo Gu as the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China.
The Zunyi meeting ended, Mao Zedong marched on a big white horse, and his passion that had been suppressed for two years and three months was now erupting, and he was looking forward to a beautiful victory.
Half of it is because of the desire to win, and half is because of intelligence errors. Mao Zedong failed in the first battle and Tucheng Battle failed.
Getting a lesson from one mistake, Mao Zedong commanded the Red Army to "return to northern Guizhou", crossed the Chishui River twice on February 18, 1935, and annihilated 8 regiments of Wang Jialie's regiments between Loushanguan and Banqiao , and seized the victory and captured Zunyi City again.
Then he hit Wu Qiwei's reinforcements again. In this battle, he wiped out 20 enemy regiments, becoming the biggest victory since Long March .
Zunyi won a great victory, and the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China officially restored Mao Zedong's military post canceled by the Ningdu Conference . The commander of the Red Army was Zhu De, and Mao Zedong served as the political commissar.
htmlOn March 12, the new three-person group was established in Gouba, Guizhou, namely Mao Zedong, Zhou Enlai, and Wang Jiaxiang. The new trio is the supreme authority to command the Red Army entrusted by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. From then on, Mao Zedong became the supreme leader of the Red Army. Although Zhu De was the commander-in-chief of the Red Army and the chairman of the Central Revolutionary Military Commission, Zhu De was led by the new three-man regiment.
In the 46th year after the Zunyi Conference, on June 27, 1981, the Sixth Plenary Session of the Eleventh Central Committee of the Communist Party of China passed the "Resolution on Several Historical Issues of the Party Since the Founding of the People's Republic of China" passed by the Sixth Plenary Session of the Eleventh Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. The Zunyi Conference held by the Political Bureau of the Party Central Committee during the Long March determined the leadership of Comrade Mao Zedong in the Red Army and the Party Central Committee, so that the Red Army and the Party Central Committee could be preserved in extremely critical situations, and then they could defeat Zhang Guotao's separatism, successfully complete the Long March, and open up a new situation of victory in the Chinese revolution.
This is a life-and-death turning point in the history of the Party.
In 1986, American journalist Salisber wrote:
"After the Zunyi Conference, everything changed. This was a watershed. Mao Zedong firmly grasped the leadership, and the Chinese Communist movement declared independence from Moscow's baton.
In the next 25 years, the world did not realize this independence, but Stalin had long linked this independence with Mao Zedong's name.
Zunyi Conference also marked the great political union between Mao Zedong and Zhou Enlai. From then on, they maintained this partnership for the rest of their lives, at least until one or two years before their death."
