July 14 recommendation:

On July 14, 1965, Wang Jie died heroically to protect the safety of others, so today I recommend the comic book "Wang Jie" in particular.

Wang Jie was born in Jinxiang County, Shandong Province in 1942. Joined the Chinese People's Liberation Army in August 1961. Joined the Chinese Communist Youth League in February 1962.

On July 14, 1965, when Wang Jie was helping the militia mine squad to conduct military training, at the critical moment when the explosive package was about to explode unexpectedly, he jumped towards the explosion point and used his body to cover the 12 militiamen and people present. The armed cadre sacrificed his 23-year-old young life.

Mao Zedong, Deng Xiaoping and the older generation of proletarian revolutionaries called on the military and civilians across the country to learn and carry forward Wang Jie's "two unafraid" spirit of "one is not afraid of hardship, the other is not afraid of death". On September 14, 2009, he was named one of the 4100 people who have touched China since the founding of New China. On September 25, 2019, he was selected into the list of "'s most beautiful strivers ".
