Dongkou County, the capital of Chinese surname ancestral halls, is located in beautiful southwest Hunan and is under the jurisdiction of Shaoyang City, Baoqing, Hunan Province. On September 30, 1951, the eighth, ninth, tenth, eleventh, third and seventh districts of the original Wugang were separated and part of the Wugang County Xuefeng Office was established. On December 13 of the same year, it was changed to the "Wugang County Dongkou Office", which consists of 12 units including the Secretary's Office, Civil Affairs Section, Culture and Education Section, Financial and Economic Committee, and Public Security Section. Dongkou County was established with the approval of the Government Affairs Council on February 26, 1952, and the Dongkou County People's Government was officially established on April 1 of the same year. By 1956, the Dongkou County Government's direct agencies had 29 units including offices, finance and trade offices, planning committees, agricultural bureaus, industrial bureaus, education departments, and public security bureaus.

After the founding of the county in 1952,Dongkou, the county was divided into 9 districts. Dongkou was the first district, Jiangkou was the second district, Qiaotou was the third district, Zhushi was the fourth district, and Shanmen was the fifth district. Districts, Huaqiao is the sixth district, Shijiang is the seventh district, Gaosha is the eighth district, and Huangqiao is the ninth district. Each district office is an agency dispatched by the Dongkou County People's Government. The district office has a chief, deputy district chief and secretary, as well as civil affairs, public security, construction, culture and education, and financial and food assistants.
