"The Red Army is not afraid of difficult expeditions. Thousands of rivers and mountains just wait for leisure. Five ridges are surging with fine waves, and Wumeng is majestic walking mud pills..." This small village under the mighty five ridges is Shazhou Yao Village, Wenming Yao Township, Rucheng County. This is where the "half quilt" story took place during the Red Army's Long March.
In November 1934, the Long March of the Red Army came to Rucheng and was stationed in Shazhou Village. Three female Red Army soldiers stayed at the old man Xu Jiexiu’s house. Before leaving, they cut off half of their only quilt and left the old man... "Half a quilt" exhibited in the "Warmth of a Half Quilt" Special Exhibition Hall in Shazhou Village. The "quilt" story scene attracts people from all over the country who come to visit and learn.
A history of the Long March of the Red Army is a history that reflects the deep feelings of the military and civilians. The "half quilt" story also shows the original intention of the Communists to serve the people. Rucheng Shazhou has also become a new red tourist attraction, including the "Half Quilt Warmth" thematic exhibition hall, the former site of the "Half Quilt" story-Xu Jiexiu's old residence, the former site of the Red Army Ministry of Health, the Red Army Plaza, the pastoral complex, etc. Attractions. The rise of tourism has not only lifted Shazhou Village out of poverty in 2018, it has also attracted young people working outside their hometowns to return to their hometowns to start businesses. Some villagers became small bosses in front of their homes, opened restaurants and built homestays. So far, more than 40 homestays and shops have been developed. Rucheng County is still the "hometown of plum plums". The golden plum plum from Wenming Township is a fine product among plum plums, with good taste and rich nutrition. Today's Shazhou Village has changed its old appearance and is full of lush greenery. It has been promoted from a remote and backward small mountain village to a new red tourism business card, and successively won the "National 4A-level Tourist Attraction", "China's Beautiful Leisure Village" and "National Rural Tourism Key Village" ""Traditional Chinese Villages" and other golden signs.
With the increase of tourists, higher requirements have been placed on the management of red tourist attractions, and the lack of red tourist talents has been highlighted, especially the shortage of tourism management talents and high-quality narrators at various attractions, which has become Chenzhou The bottleneck of the development of red tourism.
