Guan Xiangying was a well-known military leader of our party in the early days. During the Red Army period and the War of Resistance Against Japan, he partnered with He Long for a long time and made important contributions to the victory of the Chinese revolution. At the end of 1924, Guan Xiang was dispatched to Moscow's Oriental University to study. In order to overcome the language barrier, he studied hard and could speak fluent Russian in a few months. More than a year later, another group of progressive young people came to Oriental University to study, Qin Manyun was one of them. Here, she met Communists such as Guan Xiangying, Sheng Zhongliang and Wang Heshou successively.
Guan Xiangying and He Long
Because it was the first contact with Russian, Qin Manyu struggled to learn, so she took the initiative to find senior Guan Xiangying to ask for help. Guan Xiangying unreservedly taught Qin Manyun his learning experience and gave her a lot of encouragement and help. Over time, Qin Manyun developed a good impression of Guan Xiangying. In June 1928, the two married in Moscow. On the day of the wedding, many students came to congratulate. Although there was no expensive gift, the couple received many sincere blessings.
In the spring of 1929, Guan Xiangying and Qin Manyun were ordered to return to China. After returning to China, Guan Xiangying successively served as a member of the Central Military Commission, a member of the Standing Committee, a deputy minister of the Central Military Department, and secretary of the Military Commission of the Yangtze River Bureau. Qin Manyun served as his secretary. In 1930, Guan Xiangying was arrested in a patrol house in the British concession in Shanghai. While in prison, he fought resolutely with the enemy without revealing any secrets. A year later, Guan Xiangying was released from prison under the vigorous rescue of the organization.
Guan Xiangying
Since his identity has been exposed, staying in Shanghai will be very dangerous. For safety reasons, his superiors sent him to the West Su District of Hunan, Hubei and Hubei to lead the local revolutionary work together with He Long . Since Qin Manyun had not been exposed at the time, he was stayed in Shanghai and served as the director of the Comintern Representative Liaison Office and the chief accountant of the Shanghai Central Executive Bureau. Due to work reasons, she and Sheng Zhongliang, the then head of the Propaganda Department of the Shanghai Central Bureau, had a lot of contacts. The two had been classmates in Moscow for many years. After going back and forth, Qin Manyun betrayed Guan Xiangying and came together with Sheng Zhongliang.
At that time, the activities of the spies in Shanghai were rampant. Our party's organs in Shanghai have been sabotaged by secret agents many times. On June 26, 1934, Li Zhusheng, then secretary of the Shanghai Central Bureau of the Communist Party of China, was suddenly arrested by a Central Unification spy. He soon defected and confessed many secrets of our party. Qin Manyun, Sheng Zhongliang and others were arrested for this. Qin Manyun’s elder brother was a famous revolutionary martyr Qin Maoxuan, who led many strikes of workers and was killed by the enemy in 1928.

When Qin Manyun was arrested, he also wanted to use his brother as an example to fight against the enemy, but when the enemy threw the torture instrument in front of her, Qin Manyun instantly lost the courage to fight. A shameful traitor. Not only that, she also personally persuaded Sheng Zhongliang to surrender, and the two betrayed the revolution together. In order to "make meritorious service," the two confessed all the secrets they held. Many comrades were arrested for this. The underground organization of our party in Shanghai was basically destroyed, and the central government was forced to move to the Soviet area.
After Qin Manyun and Sheng Zhongliang rebelled against the revolution, they both went to work in the central unity. More than ten years later, the national army was defeated, and the couple came to Taiwan together. In 1964, Qin Manyun and Sheng Zhongliang moved to the United States to do business with their children and became American citizens. As she gets older, Qin Manyun's homesickness becomes stronger and stronger. She wants to go back to her hometown and take a look. But I feel guilty and worried about what I did back then.
Qin Manyun
In 1981, Qin Manyun finally returned to his hometown as a foreign businessman and made a lot of investment in the local area. After that, Qin Manyun returned to China many times for sightseeing, and was also invited to participate in the National Day ceremony as a "patriotic overseas Chinese". In the autumn of 1986, Qin Manyun made a special trip to Yan'an to visit Guan Xiangying’s former residence when he returned to China to visit relatives. He also personally came to Guan Xiangying’s tomb to worship, saying "I'm sorry". The confession of the rebellious revolution? Or both. In 2001, Qin Manyun died in the United States at the age of 93.
